@SpiretheWolf@trajan_blind@allenanalysis I wish the methods of Maine and Nebraska is what the rest of the states did. Our current system of red states, blue states, and swing states is disappointing.
@trajan_blind@ChrisCoble@allenanalysis Honestly, I wonder if the best comprise would be if the states left the all or nothing electoral college vote method and instead did what Maine and Nebraska does.
@American1nd1an@middle_class_us Doesn't mean said occupations automatically should see a giant pay jump but some type of multi effort resolution slow tuition costs, expand or simplify existing options such as the public service loan forgiveness program that started under Bush, slow down degree inflation, etc.
@American1nd1an@middle_class_us Honestly I feel that the trades were diserviced by the belief of everyone needing college. Still, if the problem stated isn't fixed we might face a shortage of other occupations that are also be beneficial to our communities (e.g. the varying rehab/therapy disciplines and vets)..
@DoucheFinder_@RpsAgainstTrump That's a fair argument. This is something I feel could be argued either way and, short of disclosure of some type of inappropriate dealings, no one side would be fully right or wrong
@DoucheFinder_@RpsAgainstTrump I think part of what makes this feel off is the fact that a state government effectively decided to give free advertising to a known commercial brand.
@Random_Walk_PDX@WomenAreFedUp@SecAFOfficial@PeteHegseth That is not all the Hatch act precludes. It also has restrictions on partisan political remarks and political activity while speaking in an official capacity on behalf of the government, though i can see there being debate on what does and does not fall under those restrictions.
@SecretaryWright Congrats on being "thrilled to report" efforts hindering our nation's ability to adapt its energy production. There are downsides to wind/solar, just as coal & nuclear have downsides. Why resist these alternatives growing & refining themselves to decrease their negative aspects?
@RandPaul I don't often agree with your views, but I truly think you're smarter than this. In no way would this indicate communism.
What i am not surprised by, sadly, is the hypocrisy of this attack despite the silence on similar statements from Rep. officials in states such as Texas.
@RLJ_Comms@WomenAreFedUp@SecAFOfficial@PeteHegseth ... even if any of the secretaries have violated the Hatch Act, their behaviors would not excuse an armed service member (or affiliated GS employee) advocating political views while appearing to represent their respective organization.
@RLJ_Comms@WomenAreFedUp@SecAFOfficial@PeteHegseth He is, so a different (albeit it rarely enforced act) is supposed to prohibit such actions from any of the appointed secretaries of our armed forces.
That said...
@Random_Walk_PDX@WomenAreFedUp@SecAFOfficial@PeteHegseth While it is different from the regulations that apply to armed service members and the civilians serving in our various armed forces, the politically appointed Secretaries are still subject to the HATCH act...
@SpeakerJohnson 1st, please stop name dropping my faith & using it to push your political views. You do not speak for all Christians.
2nd, please stop advocating that those who disagree with you "hate America." Oddly enough, people can hold conflicting political views & all still love the US.
@FPWellman "The job of Congress isn't to protect the President and his family. It's to provide checks and balances on the Executive Branch."
I fully agree with this & hope it holds true for years to come regardless of which party happens to effectively lead whatever part of our government
@HistoryMarquis@HistoryWJacob I'm sure some people do prefer sports with frequent stoppages. I personally don't. That is why I have come to favor rugby and soccer over football, despite growing up watching football.
