Watch our Deputy Permanent Representative, Ambassador Jonathan Miller, speak at the UN Security Council. He highlighted that the decision to include Israel in the Annex of the report - a blacklist of countries and entities that harm children during armed conflict, alongside terrorist organizations, is not only unjust and incomprehensible but counterproductive for the purposes of the report and our mutual efforts to protect children. This decision effectively rewards Hamas for its atrocities by condemning a democratic nation fighting against a terrorist organization to protect its citizens, including children. The report overlooks Hamas's systematic use of civilians, including children, as human shields. Israel goes to great lengths to protect civilians and minimize harm, while Hamas exploits civilian infrastructure for military purposes. Ambassador Miller urged the UN to hold Hamas accountable, support Israel's right to defend its children and call for the immediate and unconditional release of all hostages. This is a wake up call. Do not turn a blind eye to terror. Do not become indifferent to the horrors of October 7th.

Watch our Deputy Permanent Representative, Ambassador Jonathan Miller, speak at the UN Security Council on the ongoing situation in Rafah. Israel’s precise strike last Sunday took place two kilometers from the designated humanitarian zone and targeted senior Hamas terror officials responsible for atrocities. The tragedy that occurred is now being investigated. The Council must hold Hamas accountable for using civilians as human shields and storing munitions in civilian areas. Israel is committed to defending its citizens and returning our hostages while facilitating humanitarian aid to Gaza.
