Today at 5pm Nigerian time, the Climate Clock will tick down below 5 years for the first time.
I was out with other climate advocates to demand for #climateaction as the clock ticks down.

We all know this game too well...
Never Have I Ever:
Rushed to iron clothes the second NEPA brought light
Moved suspiciously close to a socket in public like a phone addict
Looked at a generator and whispered “please start, I beg you”
Stayed awake waiting for NEPA like it’s Santa on Christmas
If you put even ONE finger down, you’re officially a certified Nigerian.
But real talk, isn’t it time we stopped playing this game?
Who’s ready to graduate from NEPA stress? Drop your score below!
No olodo here

For girls with disabilities, menstrual health conversations must be accessible, practical, and stigma-free.
Last month, through Plan Nigeria’s Aspire project, funded by Global Affairs Canada | Affaires mondiales Canada, we engaged students of the Special Education Centre, Bauchi, in an inclusive menstrual health and adolescent sexual and reproductive health and rights session focused on dignity, confidence, and informed choices.
The session brought together students, school leaders, health professionals, gender equality and inclusion facilitators, sign language interpreters, government representatives, NAWOJ, disability advocates, and media partners to challenge harmful myths, strengthen knowledge on puberty and menstrual hygiene, and create a safe space for open conversations.
Students also participated in a practical reusable sanitary pad-making session using affordable, locally available materials, supporting both confidence and sustainable menstrual hygiene management.
As part of the engagement, 35 female students and 9 female stakeholders received sanitary kits containing hygiene and menstrual care items.
Beyond the distribution of kits, the activity reinforced a bigger message: menstrual health must be inclusive by design. Every girl deserves the information, support, facilities, and enabling environment to manage her period safely, confidently, and without shame.

When even the Presidential Villa chooses solar, it's worth paying attention.
For years, businesses, hospitals, schools, and households across Nigeria have turned to solar to reduce energy costs and improve reliability.
Now, one of the country's most important institutions is making the same shift.
Solar power is no longer just a backup option it's becoming a strategic energy solution.
Lend your voice, support a phased transition.

Solar reduces costs for MSMEs by up to 36%. Protecting access protects jobs.
Nigerian small businesses are already saving significantly by switching to solar instead of expensive diesel and grid power. A phased approach to local manufacturing will help us grow local industry while keeping these benefits alive for millions of entrepreneurs.
Let’s build a stronger solar future together.

Today, we celebrate Nigeria’s democracy and the power of citizens to shape a better future.
Democracy is not just about voting; it is about creating opportunities for people to thrive. Access to reliable electricity is one of those opportunities. When homes, schools, hospitals, businesses, and communities have power, people can work, learn, innovate, and participate more fully in society.
This Democracy Day, let's continue building a Nigeria where every citizen has the power to succeed.
Happy Democracy Day, Nigeria.

No outages. No interruptions. Just power.
The sound of reliable power isn't loud.
It's the quiet hum of an air conditioner on a hot afternoon.
The rhythm of fingers on a keyboard.
The peace of working, studying, and living without interruption.
For millions of Nigerians, constant electricity remains out of reach. But it doesn't have to be.
Solar power is helping homes, businesses, and students create their own reliable source of energy every day.
You deserve to work in peace whenever you decide.
Lend your voice. Improve energy access.
#SolarPowerNigeria
According to AFDB as reported by Amaka Okoro of AIT, over 70% of Nigerian businesses rely on generators for electricity.
That statistic tells a bigger story: millions of entrepreneurs are spending money every day just to keep the lights on.
Nigeria's goal of building local solar manufacturing is important and necessary. But any policy changes affecting solar access should be implemented gradually, allowing local production to grow while businesses and households continue accessing affordable energy solutions.
The challenge is not simply replacing imports.
The challenge is ending power poverty.
A phased transition can help Nigeria achieve both.
#SolarPowerNigeria
This week, Solar Power Nigeria is bringing together energy reporters from across the country for a focused training on solar policy, energy access, and the proposed import ban.
This training is about equipping journalists with the tools, data, and networks to report on one of the most consequential energy conversations in the country.
Energy progress comes from options, innovation, and investment.
From grid improvements to renewable energy, every source has a role to play.
The goal is simple: more power, better access, and sustainable growth.
