A5: This book really helped me focus up going into the new year - if I some mindsets that are not positive from Ts and/or Ss I’m confident I can help everyone work towards the end goal of creating a great place to work and learn.

A4: (2/2) Why does this list of roadblocks seem easier to create? Ts/Ss burnout is always an issue...Deficit mindsets seem to hurt out right of out the gate…and mostly, change is tough for Ts/Ps/Ss/As … everyone!

A4: (1/2) Small changes = get the kids to WANT to show up and improve attendance by making our lessons more ‘with it’ for our current student interests. Also, we have to create a place where teachers want to teach by leading the positive mindset brigade! #DCmindsets
A3: This is so hard because it requires a mind shift from the adults first and that’s tough - we are set in our ways! I think leading by example helps though.

A2: My ss are always amazed to learn I am still ‘in school’! They’re astounded that ts still want to learn and ‘go to school'. I have to explain to them that learning is a hobby for me - I enjoy it!I hope this makes education seem more enjoyable for them, too! #DCmindsets
@j_carpentr I really believe that if enough of us “buy in” those who choose not to will look like “Grinches” and the kids will write them off as such. I think kids WANT to have teachers with great mindsets!
Alright Ts… what is the most effective way you’ve found to ‘decorate’ your science classroom (MS/HS age)?? Motivational posters? Student work samples? Resource materials?
