A4: (2/2) Why does this list of roadblocks seem easier to create? Ts/Ss burnout is always an issue...Deficit mindsets seem to hurt out right of out the gate…and mostly, change is tough for Ts/Ps/Ss/As … everyone! #DCmindsets

A4: (1/2) Small changes = get the kids to WANT to show up and improve attendance by making our lessons more ‘with it’ for our current student interests. Also, we have to create a place where teachers want to teach by leading the positive mindset brigade! #DCmindsets

A3: This is so hard because it requires a mind shift from the adults first and that’s tough - we are set in our ways! I think leading by example helps though. #DCmindsets #stillacceptingsuggestions

A3) As a whole we can change our mindset for the better..I think too often it’s easier to complain about things going on but by making sure we look at the positives and how was can change it for the better I think it would benefit both Ts and Ss. #DCmindsets

A2: My ss are always amazed to learn I am still ‘in school’! They’re astounded that ts still want to learn and ‘go to school'. I have to explain to them that learning is a hobby for me - I enjoy it!I hope this makes education seem more enjoyable for them, too! #DCmindsets

A2) I want to continue to tell my Ss that anything is possible...My goal is to learn about what they want to be and somehow incorporate it within the lessons #DCmindsets

A1: I am really trying to think of ways that I can present these to teenagers in a way that they will perceive as cool and relevant to them, not some lame ‘adult thing’ we want them to ‘do’. #DCmindsets #acceptingsuggestions

A5) This is something I really feel strongly about..I want my students to be engaged and love learning in my room. I want them to know I expect them to do their best while we have fun learning. I strive to make connections with my Ss and want them to feel comfortable #DCmindsets
