@milcery @misswhynowhy Yes5 is actually pretty fun all things considered, however it has bottom tier mascot Coco, who sucks even if him being their teacher wasn't icky to you.
5Gogo is, much like Max Heart, a meh sequel with some decent animation at times(and sometimes AMAZING animation)

If I had a nickel for every early 2010s Magical Girl with a music theme named Hibiki, I'd have two nickels. It's kinda hilarious we had two of those so close to each other. After finishing Suite PreCure, I can say it's a worthy successor to Heartcatch, it's my second favorite rn.

@Nornecutiepie There's something kinda sad that Chris lacking a particularly clear ship probably helped her actually get a proper arc(and even then XV kinda hates her). That said, Chris is basically a walking trigger warning given her backstory is almost cartoonishly grim.

@Nornecutiepie The way Miku was handled was so bad I was basically shipping Hibiki with Tsubasa and Chris more. I actually think most of the ships the show pushes kinda suck cause they come at the cost of basic character interactions 90% of the time. Tsubasa is the biggest offender

@Nornecutiepie Tbh, the ship would've been genuinely wonderful if they were dating since the concert(or maybe began in that timeskip), but no, they chickened out. They also fumbled the chance to let Miku be a main non-combatant by making her the operator(cause the operators barely existed)

@Nornecutiepie Though my hottest take is that Hibiki and Miku's relationship is terrible and the moment they made it clear they were still on the "will they? Won't they?" phase I legit lost all faith in the ship.

@Nornecutiepie Chris is the singular character with a satisfying arc cause they actually tried spreading it around all five seasons. Everyone else is either running around with a finished arc for over 30 episodes or doesn't have a good arc at all.

@Nornecutiepie It also made the rare super likeable mascot character, I enjoyed Hummy(though part of it may be bias for the VA), all the abuse she endures does actually mean something thematically later and I love it.

Up next, Smile Pretty Cure, I hear great stuff about this one and I already love how shamelessly unserious it is. As a Tropical Rouge fan, I think I'll enjoy Smile.
