This is exactly what happened to me, but in high school. I wasn't allowed to have my art exhibition because of my "behaviour."

I know it's hard to move past the negative impact from those people who should have been supporting you, but I really hope you find a way back to creating. Just for yourself if nothing else ❤️🎨🖌

I wanted to tell Edie that I’ve experienced the same thing.

When in a class I didn’t follow instructions. Maybe that was “wrong”. But the end result was exactly right!

The teacher pointed out that I hadn’t used the technique she was teaching. She also praised the end result.

So, the lesson for me was that sometimes the teacher is trying to give me a skill I don’t yet have. But a skill without the heart of the artist rarely brings joy.

Learn the skills but also, do your own thing!
