A splash of colour in Meadow Lane, Edinburgh. When I was a child, graffiti was restricted to white paint and utterances like "Bedford Town FC kick to kill" and "SKINS" (both spotted in a Parisian underpass in August 1980).

Recommended - a walk through Embra's £3.5 million resurrected Saughtonhall Gardens and ten thousand blooms, old bandstand still there from 1908 Exhibition. Bistro offers good meals. "Sauch" is Scots for a willow tree, as in Sauchiehall Street and the Willow Tea Rooms.
