We grew up in homes where food was never just food. A meal meant people gathered around one plate, laughter from the kitchen, the smell of smoked food, matooke steaming on firewood, millet bread, groundnut sauce prepared slowly with patience and love. Eating was community. It was culture. It was identity.
Then somewhere along the way, western culture arrived quietly and settled into our everyday lives. Fast food replaced slow cooking. Families stopped sitting together because everyone now eats at different times, in different rooms, staring at different screens. Traditional meals became “old-fashioned,” while processed foods in shiny packages became modern and convenient.
Once you realize that anything can happen—sickness, death, or loss of a job—literally anything can change in the blink of an eye, you become very humble. Tables turn, and that's how crazy life can be. Always pray, stay humble, and be thankful.
I highly recommend being friends with ambitious people. Their drive pushes you to also work hard for yourself. They inspire you to do better, be better. Their good traits rub off on you. You start to want better for yourself and you grow.
Sorry to disturb your scrolling. We don’t know each other, but I pray that you get to live the life you prayed for this year and that all things work out for your benefit.
I’m a communicator, if we don’t talk about it we can’t move forward. This is for any relationship I participate in (friendships & family included) …I’ve never been the person to sweep things under the rug I just don’t operate that way
Just apologize to your partner when you know you messed up bruh… All that manipulative behavior and getting mad at them for being upset when they have a valid reason is just weird. People love to say they’re grown until it’s time to take accountability.
💭 Imagine a world where your choices are made for you and your body is not your own.
Sounds unreal right?
For many women and girls it’s just everyday life.
