Though it was an entirely different situation, Lee Mokobe’s words perfectly described how misplaced I am in society and how cruel their judgements are. They don’t realize I’m not just going through a phase - I never intend on falling back into the mindless sleep of society.
@EdnaP_Jaden This article made me question my marriage more than I already do - men call women confusing but they aren’t so straightforward themselves...
@Time2WakeUp1899 Men only get away with bad behavior because society teaches them as children that boys will be boys. All boys, guys, and men need to learn about morals.
Dave Barry’s “Guys vs Men” was different than many articles I’ve recently read and gave me mixed opinions. I can’t decide whether I prefer the confusing “guys” as explained, or the “men” that lack morals. And I disagree that God intended for gender based generalizations be made.
@Time2WakeUp1899 My little pigeon house only made me realize that my old house wasn’t the cage, but rather society, and that I was unable to move out of.
“The Gilded Cage” was so relatable. My luxurious life is the last thing I want, seeking the freedom I am kept from. I’m on display like the tiny gold bird in the cage when I’d rather be pursuing my dreams like the strong, free bird just beyond my window.
@EdnaP_Brayden I couldn’t agree more. And Abigail’s husband responded to her letter saying it was his job to be fair...what happened to fairness in how men treat women in our country’s past?
I totally agree with Abigail Adams in her letter to John Adams, “Remember the Ladies”. Men should not have unlimited power, and she is right that we will not be bound to be voiceless! I will not be controlled or owned by anyone, even Léonce 🙄.
I love the new freedom of my “pigeon house” - the freedom to be alone when I want, to have the company of Alcee when I’m lonely, the freedom to work on my art, and to be in my full home instead of that old empty house!
