Is this for real?! Thanks to all my coauthors, collaborators and friends @BecherLab, and @NatureMedicine of course. Another step closer to the understanding of #MultipleSclerosis, aiming to provide a better care for these patients. https://t.co/pR08C9FYm0
@MikeRecher Fact: low IgG + a handshake that won't let go? CVID isn't necessarily the first differential to consider!
In DM1, IgG deficiency is common, and likely reflects increased catabolism rather than failed production. A diagnosis not to miss!

Neurology meets immunology 🧠🤝🛡️
When the patient is so impressed of the diagnosis, that just can't let go of your hand. Literally: grip myotonia 😉
Fantastic interdisciplinary work led by the always brilliant @MikeRecher
Big thanks to the co-authors and patients!

New preprint: mass cytometry across 351 blood + CSF samples, two cohorts, full AD continuum.
Peripheral immune signatures (pAkt in naïve T killer cells, pPLCγ2 in granulocytes) emerge in preclinical AD, before plasma ptau217, CSF ptau181, and DCE-MRI BBB disruption. Not seen in FTLD or MS.
I guess this suggests that immune changes are among the earliest detectable events in AD. Might have implications for early biomarkers.

It’s been awesome to see the interest in our paper on EBV DNA persistence.
Many folks have asked about multiple sclerosis in this context, and I thought I’d take a moment to share some thoughts that were too speculative and/or space-constrained for the final manuscript. 1/n

🚨 Paradigm shift in #MultipleSclerosis 🚨
New study in Nature Medicine shows MS is not fixed subtypes but a dynamic continuum of states across 4 dimensions: disability, brain damage, relapses & silent inflammation.

The International Advisory Committee on Clinical Trials in #MS met in May to discuss a topic that could reshape the landscape of MS care and research: the revision of MS course descriptors. Learn why this is an important step forward in #MSResearch: ➡️ https://t.co/zsQB5GY1b9
🧬Why do some people develop MS while others do not? No single genetic variant alone can cause MS. Each one adds incrementally to the overall risk – an effect known as polygenicity. Discover more in our latest Spotlight 👉 https://t.co/hcMYK4NXdH #MS#Genetics
