Tesla is quietly building a huge autonomous driving dataset in Spain 🇪🇸
30 vehicles, 275,000+ km driven and ZERO serious incidents
Authorization FVA-03/2025 under Spain’s ES-AV framework covers the entire national road network.
Unlimited, any road, anywhere in the country
No other player currently comes close to that scope
Every other authorized operator in Spain is running 1-3 vehicles max on fixed, local routes
Others: SAE Level 4 shuttles, buses, street sweepers are all restricted to specific cities or campuses
Tesla is the only SAE Level 2 participant operating at national scale, which tells you everything about where DCAS/FSD Supervised actually sits in the European regulatory conversation
What does 275k km of supervised FSD data across Spanish roads mean for the EU rollout?
Probably nothing right?!?
Just move along now
