@secretHT1 Thanks to Ofsted, Outstanding, has always been the goal, as a football coach (and DH) look at the galacticos at Real Madrid, it didn't work, outstanding can come with baggage, fill a school with 6/10 steady Eddie's, get one or two messi's and schools will be in a strong place

Interim Head for 2 terms hardest job I've done, the issue is the step even from a Deputy is huge, nothing prepares you and is such a different skill set from previous positions - that needs to be addressed through training

@WhistleblowingT Depending on what your contract says, I have worked in the independent sector, you should have an expectation of Saturdays written in, if not then it should be paid, equally training on a non teaching day should be paid, or time lieu.this whole "part of teaching" is BS

@Headteacherchat but are smaller as individualised to pupils, I think this perhaps why Head is so tough, as you've spent so long being proactive and firefighting in the classroom, that Head is a completely different skill set - so aligning yourself with good leaders to learn is key

@Headteacherchat I've gone in last three years, I've gone Middle to SLT to Deputy To Interim Head back to Deputy, I have been thinking about what the difference is alot, I think it's about making larger decisions and disseminating this the higher you go, teachers make lots of decisions constantly

Great to hear, I was more less diagnosed with dyslexia in the last year of education, PGCE, took me 15 years to get to grip with it and have solid tools to help, lots of supportive colleagues on the way massively helped

I also gave time for fellow educators to talk about their own experiences being neurodivergent educators and the support they need to succeed. So important 🥰
