@ScholarPriest I remember after going through a local selection panel, that I was told several weeks later by the DDO "we now have a file on you, that you will never see". I had been open about my sexuality, sex life, attractions, everything. I felt like I had been exposed and then hidden.

I increasingly come across places in church life where members of a majority implore ‘patience’ from a minority that they themselves need never endure or imagine.

This is not a virtue - it is an oppression, however much it is slathered in honey and made to smell sweet.

I talk to normal people about the goings on within the CofE. The number of people who are shocked that there are areas where these behaviours are accepted (possibly even encouraged) is abhorrent to them. I won't be back with CofE any time soon.
