It was great to see Kenya leading the conversation at #ICONE2026. 🇰🇪 Being in the room with global experts today confirms one thing: effective disarmament needs technical depth. Excited to represent the youth perspective and advance this mission with the @CTBTO
Advocacy for the #CTBT is strongest when we actually know how the systems work.
Massive shoutout to the #ICoNE2026 team for the hospitality.

On #AfricaDay, we celebrate the continent’s abundant strengths, resilience, potential & growing influence on the world stage.
The people of Africa have overcome the destructive consequences of slavery & colonialism & forged unity & purpose out of adversity.
The @UN is proud to work with African countries to build a peaceful, prosperous & sustainable future all Africans & our world.
HOPe, the Hiroshima Organization for Global Peace, stands as proof that the strongest disarmament advocates are those who have seen what nuclear weapons actually do. Their voice matters. Their mission matters.

Supporting the UN disarmament organs is not an act of idealism. It is the pragmatic maintenance of the systems that prevent human error from becoming a planetary catastrophe. Verification is the only currency that matters now.
Global security is currently held together by three physical pillars that operate 24/7, regardless of political rhetoric. In an era where bilateral treaties are expiring, these UN-led systems are the only objective reality we have left. 🧵
UNODA manages the diplomatic firewall of the NPT. As we head into the 2026 Review Conference next month, this framework is what prevents regional tensions from becoming nuclear arms races. It is the fundamental architecture that keeps the board from collapsing.

Humbled to be at #ICoNE2026 for Day 2 as President Ruto @WilliamsRuto announced Kenya's historic 2,000MW nuclear plant in Siaya. A huge leap forward! Kenya is stepping into the future. The youth must be ready to lead and govern these new technologies.
For the next generation of professionals, the mandate is clearer than ever, and the era of passive youth advocacy is over. We must equip ourselves with the interdisciplinary depth required to actively co-author and govern the policies that will safely manage these emerging technologies.

“War is not the answer.
We need a way out of this disaster.
Diplomacy is the way out.
Full respect of international law is the way out.
Peace is the way out.”
— @antonioguterres calls for an immediate end to the war in the Middle East.

@BRICSinfo You cannot effectively enforce global stability when the permanent members of the Security Council actively rely on global instability to survive
Nuclear technology is fundamentally altering global healthcare access.
Through the @iaeaorg IAEA’s “Rays of Hope” initiative, over €90 million has been mobilized to build radiotherapy and nuclear medicine infrastructure in the developing world. Because of this framework, countries like Malawi have recently opened their first-ever public radiotherapy centers. The agency is actively shipping linear accelerators and deploying training networks to nations that previously had zero infrastructure for radiation oncology. Regulating atoms is only half the mandate; the other half is active, life-saving deployment.
In 2026, the Comprehensive Nuclear Test Ban Treaty marks its thirtieth anniversary. While the legal framework waits on nine specific countries for full entry into force, the physical enforcement mechanism is already operating. The CTBTO manages over 300 certified monitoring facilities across 89 nations. It uses a rigid combination of seismic, hydroacoustic, infrasound, and radionuclide sensors to ensure no nuclear explosion on Earth can go undetected. It is a strictly technical verification regime that has effectively frozen global live testing.
Only one country in history has successfully built a fully functioning nuclear arsenal and then voluntarily dismantled it.
In 1989, South Africa quietly took apart its six nuclear weapons, destroyed the blueprints, and invited international inspectors in to verify the process. They realized that holding the ultimate weapon actually isolated them and made their region less secure. It remains the ultimate proof that reversing nuclear proliferation is a realistic, executable policy choice.
India and Pakistan have fought four major wars since 1947. Yet, there is one agreement between them that has never been broken.
It is the Indus Waters Treaty. Despite decades of active conflict, border skirmishes, and nuclear posturing, the two nations have successfully co-managed the massive Indus River system without interruption since 1960. It highlights a hard diplomatic reality: even the most bitter geopolitical rivals will quietly maintain functional peace architectures when basic human survival is on the line.

The war in the Middle East must stop.
Diplomacy must prevail.
All Security Council resolutions must be implemented.
The latest one, resolution 2817, must be respected, as we see that countries in the Gulf continue to be targeted.
Some International Monitoring System (IMS) station operators work under truly challenging conditions. AS92 in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, the last certified facility of the Russian IMS segment, reflects the dedication and professionalism behind this network. Often operating in remote and demanding environments, these teams play a vital role in ensuring the continuity and reliability of monitoring data.
Low earth orbit is no longer a scientific frontier. It is the most contested supply chain of the 21st century.
While the international community drafts terrestrial treaties, private constellations are quietly redrawing the borders of global surveillance and communication. If you want to understand the geopolitical friction of 2026, you have to stop looking at the map and start looking up.
