@ultramarinated2@roffe_saul@TimmyFacciola_ the generation that fought the war of independence and the civil war were pensioners when the troubles started. they started all the same.
the point is the US isn’t backing anyone here, so it makes sense that Mamdani does not have a position
@edwardrmgraham@nordicalien777@BenGoldsmith race doesn’t exist in a biologically meaningful way, but racism exists because people assume otherwise, or just in spite of the facts
@roffe_saul@TimmyFacciola_ probably because the US has been overtly supporting israel for decades, is still doing so today and their occupation of Palestine would be impossible without that support
@JakeFitzsimons very first post of yours ive seen is you tagging a woman about sexual chemistry and her telling you to fuck off
i’d call that provoked
you’d want to have a think about what you’re at because you look like a shit head right now
@Mick_Mcgonigle even with the most efficient panels, most houses don’t have enough roof space to power themselves. industry and high rise developments even less so
car parks, maybe. presumably the cost is higher
i’d rather see it reforested myself, but solar is less terrible than farm land
@RoryHanrahan5 right from the get-go, you start with the assumption that we reckon the genocide started in 2023, and so our anger at Israel predating that is supposed to be some sort of gotcha
the genocide is decades old -a slow and grinding fragmentation and reduction Palestine and its people
@JaelCorbleu@ofclmayaclaire It’s good to be able to read, comprehend, and use a dictionary, but it’s better to also read some other books which might maybe expand on ideas like “tolerance” a little bit beyond a two line definition.
@JaelCorbleu@ofclmayaclaire A tolerant and inclusive society has to have one exception or it can’t survive. It cannot tolerate an ideology of broad intolerance.
Whatever you call that ideology- fascism usually- it has to be vigorously excluded.
This is not a new idea.
@Drewbydoobiedue@rospigge60559 And if you think Putin’s only a problem for Europe, ask any US vet who was stationed in Alaska what scenario they trained most for.
@Drewbydoobiedue@rospigge60559 The US forms a little over 50% of NATO’s power. Definitely formidable, but if the allies are toast without the US, then the US is toast too.
They didn’t join NATO out of charity, and if they break the biggest military treaty they ever signed, nobody will ever trust them again.
