@AbalaWilliam@CricketKenya Talented and gifted much. Steve Tikolo et al, those lads were good. I honestly do not know where he is, I was and is never a cricket fan, except those guys and that pool of players were ones you couldn't ignore..
What happened to Kenyan Cricket?
I remember growing up idolizing the Tikolo brothers (Steve & Bruce Tikolo), then there was Maurice Odumbe...just what happened? And where are they currently?

Design barriers like multi-storey buildings without lifts, missing ramps, no accessible washrooms, narrow doorways, lack of assistive tools, or non-accommodative school transport are a big reason why learners with disabilities report low self-confidence, increased isolation, and high drop-out rates. Arriving daily to schools that are built without them in mind really turns what should be a welcoming school environment into a place of struggle for them and their caregivers.
My Learners With Disabilities Bill 2023, currently in Parliament, seeks to remove these man-made barriers, so every learner can participate freely, feel included, and have an equal chance at education.
Inclusion in Kenya is no longer an option. #VIP
Today’s public participation on the Culture Bill (National Assembly Bill No. 12 of 2024) gave the public an opportunity to discuss our cultural identity, heritage, and creative expressions within Kenya’s national development agenda.
From safeguarding indigenous knowledge, fabrics and languages, to regulating royalties for cultural property, to the lack of a national dress, to protecting traditional innovations, and aligning with global treaties that Kenya has ratified — a lot was covered. If you didn’t participate but still wish to, please send your views to the Senate Labour and Social Welfare committee.
Culture is a political, social, and economic capital. It must be protected, valued, and legislated for — inclusively and intentionally. #VIP
“I’ll be 70 next year. And I’m not here to impress anyone. I’ve been the champion. I’ve been the villain. I’ve had gold around my waist and nothing in my soul. Now? I just want peace. Everything else is noise.”
I grew up where love was tough and fists were currency.
I didn’t learn kindness — I learned survival.
By 13, I was arrested 38 times.
By 20, I was the youngest heavyweight champion in history.
They called me “Iron Mike” — like I wasn’t supposed to bleed.
I had money, fame, mansions, tigers, private jets…
But I couldn’t sleep. I couldn’t breathe.
The world saw knockouts.
I saw ghosts.
At 40, I started asking better questions.
Not “how do I win?”
But “why was I always fighting in the first place?”
And the truth?
I wasn’t fighting the other guy.
I was fighting myself. My fear. My father’s silence. My mother’s pain. My own shame.
Now, at 70, I’m not chasing anything.
I grow mushrooms.
I hug my pigeons.
I walk barefoot on grass and cry sometimes for no reason at all.
I talk more about forgiveness than uppercuts.
I don’t need the belt. I don’t need the roar of a crowd.
I just want to eat good fruit, tell the truth, and die knowing I broke the cycle.
If you want to know what greatness is — it’s not dominance. It’s healing.
It’s walking away from the thing that used to destroy you — and choosing not to destroy others with it".
— Mike Tyson
Completing a PhD isn't about becoming an expert.
It's about
• transforming confusion into clarity through sheer persistence.
• learning to sit with uncertainty longer than others can bear.
• finding dignity in the struggle when peers have given up.

Try to read a lot of books (read broadly), ingest as much information as you can and develop a good general knowledge.
