@seun_edema Lool you’re far too kind
Until I see Tolami on the pitch or Davido featuring Chioma, everybody should get out of my front with their rebuttals
Lol
Before we address the other points made, we must first be honest enough to admit that in our current sociocultural context, having a man IS social capital.
You people are not real.
If you don’t share your platform with your partner that you love(cos apparently some of you don’t love your future partners) who do you now want to share it with.
Oh well.
I see how if your takeaway from Jola’s video was “Women should NEVER share their social capital with their men.” and not “Women should NOT BE SO QUICK to share their social capital with their men.” the reaction would be “See a man sharing his social capital with a woman here o.”
But:
1. He is not the first so it is not really making the point that is being made stronger. Ronaldo and other male celebrities that were mentioned before make that point clearly.
2. Jola did not say men NEVER share their social capital, it was a question of how quick they are to share (walk the red carpet with them, reference them, post them) + whether they change their whole brand to couple content the way some women do. Bukayo is not helping the case when it comes to these points.
I don’t even care about this gender war thing tbh
My main concern here is what’s so bad about sharing your platform with your own partner?
Especially if it’s going to benefit them?
Friends share platforms with each other, hell even strangers do too
Why then are you drawing the line when it comes to your partner?
What’s the rationale behind this.
Using imaginary statistics is naive sha, but let’s assume without conceding that what you are saying is true, didn’t it never for once occurred to you that they do this because it’s very beneficial to the business itself ?
@Rankingfish@Eeejay67 Yes. I'm reading partner here as boyfriend and partner not husband..maybe she didn't use the right words...but women platform their boyfriends faster than men do. Statistics will show you this
lol, she knows Davido literally made a song for Chioma.
But then, when people have made up their minds that they will be very selfish toward their future spouse, they need to find social validation, even if it’s based on lies, to justify their future actions.
Lol
She literally said
"Something your partner didn't work for"
Jola's statement was an overreach laced with misguided misandristic feminism.
Men have been sharing their platforms with their women overtime. The narrative of women are "quick to" is only fueled by social media exposure which is not always a reflection of reality.
She legit said “ I don’t really like how generous women are with platforms when it comes to romantic relationships, we are a bit too kind about” How can you be too kind to your partner? 🤦🏾♂️
I love Bukayo Saka and Tolami Benson but Jola essentially said male celebrities take time to walk the red carpet with their partners or reference them. For whatever reason, this is literally what happened with these 2 as well.
If I’m correct, the first (and only) post of them on his page was the engagement announcement. 👁️👁️
No couples channel and things.
🚨🎙️| Pep Guardiola: “What is Barça missing to win the Champions League? The Champions League is a competition that DESTROYS projects, and I hope that’s not the case at Barça. We must not think that just because you don’t win it, everything that has been built is no good. The league is the competition that gives you consistency and continuity. In the Champions League, you need to reach the decisive stages in good condition, without injuries, and refereeing also has a huge impact.
What matters is that the daily work is excellent, that the team keeps growing and improving, and that they don’t believe the season is a failure just because they don’t reach the Champions League final or win it. The league is what sets the foundation for judging whether a season has been good or not.” [@mundodeportivo@forcabarca_ar] #fcblive
