At exactly 1:00 p.m. Nigerian time today, Benin Airport stood still as the aircraft carrying the remains of the late Archbishop Augustine Akubeze touched down.

Many times before, he had travelled through this airport and returned home on his own. But today, he came back in a coffin.

It was the final homecoming of a good shepherd to the airport that had welcomed him countless times, to the soil where he laboured, and to the people he served and shepherded for many years.

This time, the shepherd has come home to rest among his people.

Under Nigerian law, Peller did not get legal ownership of any building as promised by Mr Ochacho.

Power of Attorney is just a document that gives authority to Peller to act on behalf of Mr Ochacho concerning the said Building or Property and Mr Ochacho can withdraw such power at any time he wish without Peller's consent or Approval.
And if Mr Ochacho kpai today, the document becomes invalid immediately (revoked)

That document doesn't transfer ownership of Land under Nigeria law.

Many Nigerian Youth Can’t Even Think of Marriage Because They Are Jobless — Cardinal Onaiyekan

Cardinal John Onaiyekan has expressed concern over Nigeria’s worsening unemployment crisis, saying many young graduates can no longer think about marriage or building a future because they cannot find jobs.

Speaking during an interview on Frontline, a current affairs programme on Eagle 102.5 FM, Ilese-Ijebu, Ogun State, the Archbishop Emeritus of Abuja reflected on Nigeria’s economic situation following the recent meeting between the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Nigeria and President Bola Tinubu.

Onaiyekan said the true measure of any government’s success should be the well-being of its citizens rather than economic indicators such as GDP or reports from international institutions.

He said: “If we admit that the role of government is the welfare of citizens, then it means we are not going to judge the success of our government on the basis of the statistics from GDP, from the World Bank, or whatever. The important thing is, what, how is the life of the Nigerian?”

Describing youth unemployment as one of Nigeria’s biggest challenges, the cleric noted that many university graduates remain jobless despite years of education.

He said: “The terrible thing now is many of our young people that have struggled to finish university are all going around with their degrees. They are unable to get a job. Therefore, they can’t even think of marriage. They can’t think of starting a family. They can’t think of planning their life. That is terrible,” the Cardinal lamented.

He warned that growing frustration among unemployed youths could have serious consequences if not urgently addressed, urging the government to show the political will to govern with honesty, fairness and justice.

He said: “The only thing it takes is a political will to do the right thing, to be honest in how government is run, to be just to everybody, to be fair in this.”

Why is kidney failure becoming so rampant in Nigeria? I just watched a video of more than 20 people sitting together, and shockingly, they were all battling kidney-related problems.

What makes it even more heartbreaking is that many of them can barely afford basic medication like paracetamol, let alone the cost of dialysis. 😔💔

Today i was in the Neurology clinic, after seeing a patient.
I had a slight headache.

I immediately stood up, to check my blood pressure. It was 111/71 mmhg. I wanted to be sure it was not high blood pressure giving me headache.

While I was in the consulting room checking my blood pressure, My Prof walked in he saw me. He laughed, I laughed back..

He too said, Please help me check my blood pressure. My Prof is in his late 60s.
He sat down, I checked his blood pressure, his own was fine.

I smiled and chuckled back at him, we cannot know the role high blood pressure in causing stroke and ignore.. warning signs
