@szcblog@modadanata I would not have thought to look for these in Istanbul. I got addicted in Lisbon. Excellent find, thank you. Next Turkey visit π
@SimonCalder I agree.
Incidentally really liked your latest email thoughts on how border crossings can actually be joyful. Even with the hassles involved in some, I always consider travel a privilege and to enter another county was something I dreamt of a long time before it happened for me.

When you briefly climb up someone's steps to get the photo, because you just don't get it from street level. Often I can imagine the photo but need to work out how to be in the right place to take it.

When you take coffee onto the roof at sunrise and in the South West see a line of pink clouds.
These were above Ras Mohammad, which unfortunately can't be seen through the neighbouring apartments.
Must have been beautiful at the headland edge.

This morning. 12Β° Celcius at sunrise but will reach 27Β° today and many will be enjoying the beaches and coral reefs.

@ieatmypigeon Love the idea of this column, I'll be following.
Egypt so often gets misrepresented in the media, so I hope you will consider interviewing some of the specialists here who can show different perspectives.
Cloud in the South East tinted by sun setting in the West, moon already high above the sea.
Zoom of the moon.
This month I plan to find a new watching place for the full moon rising, as moonrise will be further east than the nearby cliff edge.

I don't often photograph tourists unless they are silhouettes at sunset, but couldn't resist taking this photo in the late afternoon with the intense daytime blues of the sea and sky already fading just before sunset.

Farsha Mountain Lounge, a local cafe built on the side of a Red Sea cliff, has changed what was a dusty garden at street level to this π Much more accessible for those who can't walk down the wooden stairs to the older areas.

I managed to find one of the few Egyptian objects in Malagaβs amazing Museum. In 2012 archaeologists found an intact Phoenicians tomb from the sixth century BCE with the interred remains of a middle-aged male.
@kthalps@_amroali They are ridiculous. Australian born, I have some Jewish ancestry and visited Israel but NEVER felt it was my country. I can't comprehend Zionist attitudes. I am honoured to be a guest in Egypt and will always support Palestinians, their rights to their land and to return.
