It is with deep sadness that I share news of the passing of our Legislative Assistant, Brenda Webb, this morning at her home in St Charles, Missouri.
Brenda began working in our official office in October, and this was her first session as a full member of the staff. I’m devastated that the Missouri Senate didn’t get the chance to get to know her as well as I have over the past decade. I’m heartbroken for her two sons, Cory and Scott Webb--both of whom I know are feeling the loss more acutely than anyone else.
I have known Brenda for nearly a decade. She was one of the first grassroots activists I met when I began my own political activism in 2014. Since then, we became great friends who shared a love for our Lord, Jesus Christ, the cause of liberty, and a calling to protect the country we have been blessed to live in.
But Brenda was far more than even the great addition she made to our Jefferson City office. She was a mother, grandmother, mentor, troublemaker, coordinator, coach, planner, friend, cookie-baker, caretaker, nurturer, smiling face, and optimist that every office and/or social group hopes to have. I speak for my whole team when I say that we will miss her endless enthusiasm for liberty.
Despite the grief, I want to say how happy I am for Brenda—tonight she is in the arms of our Savior, looking down on the rest of us smiling and waiting for the day we will see her again. This difficult day in Missouri is contrasting greatly with the party Brenda is enjoying upstairs.
Please join Amanda and I as we keep the Webb family in our prayers and celebrate Brenda’s life and accomplishments.
Reminds me of my amendment on HB2 to withhold funding from K-12 schools who teach woke DEI/CRT in schools. After leadership ruled my 1st amendment “out of order”, my 2nd amendment was voted down 14-18, with 9 Republicans voting against it. #moleg@MTFreedomCaucus@SFC_Network
