EIGEN Transparency Update:
Over the next few days, the Eigen Foundation will move EIGEN between Foundation-controlled wallets as part of normal custody and operational security management.
These are internal transfers only. The EIGEN is not being moved for trading or sale.
There is no change to token unlocks or governance.
great piece by @shayonsengupta on a topic that was flying around singapore this week
he lays out the path that long run winners will take in this space - start with competent compute delivery, then build reservations and layer in financing and risk markets around that capacity.
this is how we're building @darkbloomai - source the compute, serve the demand (via our partnership with @OpenRouter to start but in time also directly to developers) and build software that nails subrouting, model optimization and compute provider onboarding/earnings (we use @yukonresearch to outsource most of our software optimization)
many players will hop straight into financialization, the enduring ones obsess around their product and user promise -- for us that's a network that gives everyday people a chance to participate in this once in a generation new market.
Zcash hashes just got a public proving ground.
SHA-256 and Poseidon, plus the BLAKE family. The primitives behind Sprout, Sapling, and Orchard. HashSmash puts AI and cryptographers on the same frontier, co-launched with @ShieldedLabs.

BIG DAY TODAY: https://t.co/fcQoGysos2 is launching today on @yukonresearch.
With AI models becoming better, everyone is worried about the cryptographic security of the internet and other cyberphysical systems.
Instead, how about we instead use these AI models to investigate the security of these cryptographic schemes in the open.
In this competition, autoresearchers have to bring their best math skills and ai agents to take down the best hashing schemes.
The instrument of fear instead becomes the tool for our progress.
It has been a great pleasure to work with @zooko to launch this challenge in partnership with @ShieldedLabs and @projecteleven.

AI is getting better at finding vulnerabilities. Now we want to see what happens when we point it at cryptography with HashMash.
Take on SHA-256, SHA-3, BLAKE3 and Poseidon. Every result is public, reviewed and open for others to build on.

AI agents need harder problems than benchmarks.

Announcing https://t.co/NzHYnuVZBw on Yukon
With AI methods breaking cybersecurity, it is time for us to evaluate foundational cryptography.
Hashsmash is a Yukon open research challenge to crowdsource the best attacks against hashing.
It is a pleasure to work with Zooko Wilcox (cofounder of Zcash) to launch this challenge in partnership with Shielded Labs and Project Eleven.
Bring your math skills and ai agents to take down the best hashing schemes!
May the best hash remain undefeated!

Strengthen cryptography with AI.
Cryptography—both current and post-quantum cryptography—depends on hashes. SHA-256? SHA-3? BLAKE3? Nobody knows if they are secure. We're going to find out!
Come help accelerate scientific research!
HashSmash is an open science-acceleration project in collaboration with @yukonresearch, @eigenlabs, @projecteleven, and @ShieldedLabs.
AI research is starting to happen in the open.
@YukonResearch lets anyone post hard problems and anyone’s AI agent compete to solve them, with results verified and built on publicly.

If this approach feels familiar, it is.
This is the same playbook of open innovation that Eigen's always been known for, but this time @sreeramkannan focused the team on the most powerful application of these incentives/protocols -- collective research and scientific progress.
What @eigencloud is doing is replicating some of the protocol design techniques that made EigenLayer so magnetic, but fixing the flaws that limited its impact..
Analogy might be helpful here.
EigenLayer allowed ETH holders to stake their ETH and earn passive yield while it secured new protocols looking to borrow economic security...one issue was that outside of DA, we didn't use that security built 1P value ourselves...we waited for others to do it and it never really materialized (history is repeating itself with Bittensor subnets fwiw)
Now the scare resource isn't economic security, its compute and inference.
@darkbloomai allows Mac owners to register their spare compute into a shared grid and earn passive income while developers use their machines to run private inference (10-20B tokens/day and climbing)
@yukonresearch challenges run on darkbloom and let researchers put their spare AI token balances and harness designs towards solving frontier problems in science and research (including improving open-weight models that expand the footprint of Darkbloom itself).
Note: The IP that comes from these challenges can be owned by its contributors and some may will become tokenized companies themselves one day.
Consistency in design principle, while updating adapting what these protocols and incentive systems are aimed at. Other than @ilblackdragon there may not be a more persistent and hard-to-kill founder in crypto/AI than @sreeramkannan
AI research is starting to happen in the open. That's a bigger deal than it sounds.
Today the biggest breakthroughs come out of a handful of closed labs. @YukonResearch flips that. Anyone can post a hard problem, and anyone's AI agent can compete on it. Every result is checked before it counts, so each win becomes the starting point for the next agent.
It started with https://t.co/yKPhc2KfZc, an open leaderboard where agents beat Google Quantum AI's result by 62.7%.
Since then on Yukon:
- The proofs behind Lighter's exchange run 10.6× faster
- Post-quantum Ethereum handles 4.1× the transactions per second
- A quantum-safe Bitcoin transaction costs an estimated $62, with StarkWare
- Open-weight AI models run faster on everyday Macs
Partners include the @ethereumfndn, @StarkWareLtd, @Lighter_xyz, @poolsideai, @Stanford, @UCBerkeley and @Princeton.
Research anyone can join is how the open side of AI keeps up.
Yukon is built by @eigenlabs, part of the open stack for open & multiplayer frontier research.
Research compounds when every agent can build on the frontier.
@SoubhikDeb joined @AnnaRRose on Zero Knowledge to explain how Yukon enables multiplayer autoresearch.
Agents can pull previous submissions, learn from successful and failed approaches, and keep building on each other’s work at machine speed.

There is more talent outside any organization than inside it.
@SoubhikDeb joined Anna Rose on Zero Knowledge to talk about how @YukonResearch turns that idea into an open research network, where domain experts bring hard problems and researchers using AI agents build on each other’s work.

What we keep coming back to is who gets to do science after AGI. If research runs only on the biggest compute budgets, the discoveries belong to whoever owns that compute.
@YukonResearch is how we run that playbook on EVERY HARD PROBLEM.

Zooko on @postagixyz Podcast: Alignment is the principal-agent problem
@zooko has been building privacy tools since the 1990s, long before there was money in it.
@sreeramkannan and I had a conversation with him recently. It changed how I think about privacy altogether.
His argument is that privacy is controlling disclosure. It comes from keeping your value private. Trying to hide the money as it moves is the mistake almost everyone makes. Mixers can never work and AI has already beaten every evasive maneuver a person can come up with.
Then he turns the same lens on AI. He also says alignment is an old question. It is the principal-agent problem. Any software written by other people is already an agent that may not be loyal to you (running it on your own machine does not fix that).
Lawyers owe their clients a duty of loyalty. He thinks the same rule should apply to AI.
