Today marks a new chapter for Eight Sleep. Our technology has been approved as a medical device in Abu Dhabi to support the diagnosis of obstructive sleep apnea, following a Health Technology Assessment by the Department of Health Abu Dhabi.

The approval enables physicians to prescribe Eight Sleep’s technology to adults with suspected obstructive sleep apnea for at-home use as a diagnostic aid. Sleep apnea affects nearly one billion people and is one of medicine's most underdiagnosed conditions.

Our technology changes that by capturing heart rate, breathing rate, movement, and apnea events night after night and producing an Apnea-Hypopnea Index (AHI) score that a qualified healthcare professional reviews alongside the patient’s symptoms, medical history, and examination.

This marks Eight Sleep’s first medical device approval, and the beginning of a new path for the company. Eight Sleep began by building consumer technology to help people sleep better every night. Now, that technology is entering clinical care, prescribed by physicians, assessed by a national health authority, and integrated into Abu Dhabi’s intelligent health system.

Sleep is one of the most powerful and underused signals of human health. This approval is an important step toward making it a more measurable, actionable, and clinically relevant pillar of preventive care.

This is just the beginning.

Today, @eightsleep's technology was approved as a medical device in Abu Dhabi to support the diagnosis of obstructive sleep apnea.

This marks a new chapter for Eight Sleep: one where physicians can prescribe our technology to adults with suspected obstructive sleep apnea, for use at home as an aid in diagnosis.

We started by building consumer technology to help people sleep better every night. This approval follows a Health Technology Assessment by the Department of Health Abu Dhabi, and it brings that technology into clinical care.

Sleep apnea affects nearly one billion people worldwide, and it’s one of the most underdiagnosed conditions in medicine. Our technology captures heart rate, breathing rate, movement, and apnea events at home, night after night, so a physician sees how a patient actually sleeps. A qualified healthcare professional reviews every result alongside the patient’s symptoms and medical history.

This isn’t about replacing doctors. It’s about giving them data they’ve never had.

But we will not stop here. Sleep is one of the most powerful signals of human health, and our goal is to make it a more measurable, actionable, and clinically relevant pillar of preventive care, and we’ll keep working alongside governments and regulatory bodies to get there.

Welcome to this new era.

Some products take years of roadmapping. Solo started with a quick brainstorm and one question: What if we cut the Cover in half?

Within a week, the team had worked out whether it was feasible, defined the functional details, and sewn a working prototype.

The new sensor stack let us remove the side skirt. That changed how the Cover attaches to the mattress, and opened it up to more bed setups.

Solo gets the same heating, cooling, and sleep tracking as the full-size Cover.

Now it's available to people who couldn't use it before:
✅ College dorms
✅ Small apartments
✅ Anyone who only wants temperature control on their side of the bed

Today we launched an integration with myAir by @Resmed. Resmed is the leading health technology company focused on sleep, breathing, and care delivered in the home.

In the U.S. or Australia? myAir by Resmed users can now connect their accounts and view certain myAir usage data in the @eightsleep app, alongside heart rate, breathing rate, and snoring-related data.

Connect your myAir account in the Eight Sleep app to get started.

@SmallBrandClub Two Solo Covers can remain separate or be zipped together, and each person can set their own temperature and track their own side.

[Eight Sleep @eightsleep]

It started with one question: what if we just cut the Cover in half?

That's how Solo came together.

Solo gets the same heating, cooling, and sleep tracking as the full-size Cover.

Now it's available to people who couldn't use it before:
→ College dorms
→ Small apartments
→ Anyone who only wants temperature control on their side of the bed

Same Pod performance, sized for whoever's sleeping on it.

Pets, partners, and a lot of tossing and turning. Real beds are chaos, so that's where we tested. Pod 6 sensors went into a thousand real bedrooms to make sure we were meeting our accuracy targets.

Pregnancy is one of the biggest physiological shifts a body goes through. Yet only one study has ever tracked how core temperature changes across pregnancy, and most research stops measuring recovery six weeks postpartum.

We studied more than 100 women on the Pod, from 12 weeks before pregnancy through six months postpartum. That’s roughly 46,000 nights, making it an industry-leading study of maternal sleep and recovery.

What we found:
→ Across pregnancy: women cooled their bed temperatures roughly 4°F, highlighting how their temperature preferences shifted as pregnancy progressed.
→ By the third trimester: women on the Pod showed smaller increases in resting heart rate, smaller declines in HRV, and gained up to 16 extra hours of sleep compared to women not on the Pod, on average.
→ In postpartum: women on the Pod averaged 15 more minutes of total sleep each night, with resting heart rate and HRV rebounding at 12 weeks.

@LasseSmedsvig1 @m_franceschetti We would love to make that happen. Unfortunately, our showroom truck will be in Texas on those dates.

The bedroom is the most private room in the house. So we designed Pod 6 to feel like it belongs there.

That's what craftsmanship means to us: not decoration, but obsessing over curvature, proportion, and every small detail until the product feels effortless.

[Matteo Franceschetti @m_franceschetti]

Before Pod 6 launched, @Charles_Leclerc toured our SF office. Our team walked him through the versions we were still working on, and he tested it himself and told us exactly what he thought.

That's what makes Charles part of this team, not just an ambassador, but someone actually in the process.

[Eight Sleep @eightsleep]

Day one on the job. The brief: cut the system in half, make it more powerful, give it a completely new industrial design, and launch in one year.

The result:
✅ 50% smaller Hub
✅ Fastest cooling we've ever shipped
✅ No water tank

Engineered by people who are obsessed with your sleep.

[Eight Sleep @eightsleep]

Before Pod 6 was public, @charles_leclerc visited our San Francisco office to see what we were working on, test it for himself, and give us his honest feedback.

Months later, we got to show him the finished Pod 6. Six generations of learning, packed into our smallest Pod yet. Proud to have Charles along for the journey. More to come.

You wanted to take back the space beside your bed. We made it happen (and improved everything else in the process).
