@InjuryFreeKids Q9_We engaged with urban kids to #BeInjuryFree and asked their help in creating a video for them about helmets. Check out our award-winning video, You Make the Call (done in partnership with @DrLeticiaRyan), at https://t.co/e5BJZdkD7r @JohnsHpkinsCIRP
@InjuryFreeKids Q7_Check out our work making pedestrian safety a priority on our campus @JohnsHpkinsCIRP. We describe the formative research, campaign materials and evaluation results in this report, https://t.co/6gMiV9lAlh
@AmerAcadPeds@healthychildren Q5_We found that in homes with children, Rx opioids were stored unsafely. All medications (& other household poisons) should be stored in a locked place. To #BeInjuryFree, adults should remove unused/expired meds from homes to reduce risks of (un)intentional poisonings/misuse.
@jpmacares Q4_We listen to and support parents, who all want their kids to #BeInjuryFree. And, we make it easy for them to access good information and resources to help them practice the ABCS of safe sleep every time they place their baby to sleep.
@InjuryFreeKids Q3_When kids are around any body of water, one adult needs to be identified as the “watcher” so kids can #BeInjuryFree knowing they are being properly supervised.
IFCK-Baltimore is here! Proud to also represent @johnshpkinsCIRP, one of @CDCInjury-funded centers of excellence in injury control helping us all #BeInjuryFree
@Tracy_Mehan@SF4publichealth Come visit us in Bmore this Summer (when it’s safe to do) and we’ll take you to Gertrude’s to meet Chef Shields! The Summer of #SAVIR2021
A6: We are grateful for core support from National Center for Injury Prevention and Control (@CDCInjury) that allows us to adapt in response to public health crises such as the #COVID19 pandemic. #CovidIVP#SAVIR2021
A5: Dr. Ginger Yang helped lead an international study which looked at Covid-19’s effect on people’s mental 🧠and physical🏋️health. (Survey closed, results forthcoming.) #CovidIVP
Q5: What are some good examples you have seen of how people and organizations have addressed injury and violence prevention during COVID-19? #SAVIR2021#CovidIVP
Parents and kids: are you wearing your bike helmets when you ride bike? check out this cool video to see how bike helmets are like phone covers and keep you safe from #CovidIVP! https://t.co/TkoivLPCHS
A3: Survey methods and surveillance are key to understanding the nature of the problem. The #IVP field should adapt existing interventions and develop new evidence-informed strategies to respond to changes in injury and violence due to #COVID19. #CovidIVP#SAVIR2021
Awesome #SAVIR2021 experience to hear from #injury prevention ‘living legends’ whose collective efforts have “saved lives-millions at a time”: Baker, Krug, Raman and Robertson
Mine was an observation of drivers’ and child passengers’ restraint use — in the ‘olden days’ before child passenger seat laws! Still working on this topic
Another win for #science. Congrats @NASA@NASAPersevere@NASAJPL for a job well done! Amazing what you can do with great leadership, cooperation and smart people.
That made me laugh out loud. Another one of my favorites (albeit non holiday) was a friend’s child who sang ‘bring your juice box money’ to the B52’s ‘bring your juke box money’
My 5yo is singing the refrain from Angels We Have Heard on High on repeat, but she keeps saying “Here is Chelsea’s mayo”. So, the New Year is off to a good start. What do your kids sing in place of “in excelsis Deo”?
