Thank you @AChurchard @ Fiona Symington for co-organising and hosting!
Homelessness 👏 is 👏 not 👏 a 👏 crime.
The UK Government seems to think it should be. Join us in taking action to stop their plans to criminalise homelessness via the Criminal Justice Bill.

I'm so grateful for everyone's kind help here, thank you!
We are still needing participants, so if you know anyone with lived experience of homelessness, please ask them to contact me ([email protected]).
Thank you so much, everyone 🙏🩵
Almost 2 weeks ago, we wrote an open letter to all #Dclinpsy courses regarding the silence on 🇵🇸
We emailed every single course & have only received one response thus far. This silence in response in of itself exemplifies the issues mentioned below ⬇️
Open letter asking the @BPSOfficial to issue a statement calling for a ceasefire in Gaza.
“As psychologists, and as fellow humans, we cannot be
silent whilst a genocide unfolds before us.”

Homelessness is about so much more than needing a home, it’s about trauma, adversity, exclusion, neglect, a lifetime of system failures, a lack of good enough early life care, poverty, deprivation, a failure of public & social policy. It is not a lifestyle choice.
Cruel and ill-informed take. Perhaps take a few minutes to consider the multifaceted and traumatising factors which would lead anyone to ‘choose’ to sleep rough, rather than making sweeping, erroneous statements to incite further stigma towards some of our most vulnerable people.
The British people are compassionate. We will always support those who are genuinely homeless. But we cannot allow our streets to be taken over by rows of tents occupied by people, many of them from abroad, living on the streets as a lifestyle choice. 1/4

1 in 50 Londoners is now homeless. On average at least one child in every London classroom is homeless.
This is an absolute scandal & should be front page news. The number of homeless residents in temporary accommodation in London is now just under 170,000. 83,500 are children
