Drone footage published by the Georgian pro-government TV channel Imedi of this evening’s demonstration in Tbilisi showing just a handful of protesters differed dramatically from the scenes captured by OC Media’s reporters on the scene.
@Merab_53@RikardJozwiak Actually, Shevardnadze's vanguard can be seen on all of the latest MFA photos. It is only natural, after dismissing so many Eurooe and USA educated young diplomats, you have to fill in the void somehow.
@Amb_Ulyanov Says representative of Russia who has violated sovereignty and territorial integrity of many of its neighbouring countries. U are like a bad partner who interfares with exes even after the divorce. Why dont u take care of your own Eurasian expanse and leave the world at peace
@Riku_Ranta@elinavaltonen Supporting good governance and democracy is not globalism especially if a country has already submited to EU integration, CoE and OSCE. Supporting normal political governance in neigjbouring countries is a pragmatic and noble way to prevent future unrest. Why are we doing ABC?
@ladysweden On the bases of Georgia being a EU candidate country which requires certain political behaviour. Georgia was well functioning when it was a democratic reformer. Since 2022 Georgia is a country which lives of off Russian immigration and black money. Stop spreading lies.
@ladysweden "until they beat 24 police officers severely" - what a disgraceful lie to just casually insert to amplify harmf disinformation! Minister is supporting the very values on which OSCE stands. This is actually what GD has done to demonstrators: https://t.co/gVX9Qrygr3
@WadeWilson1111@elinavaltonen On oct 4th, yes some (very small portion) of demonstrators rattled gates, but trust your eyes there, preciesly: iron gates flew down in 4 seconds. EU has made excellent assesment of that even.
@WadeWilson1111@elinavaltonen By October 4th, it had already been 315 days of non-stop protest. Nobody from GD ever talked to this people or heed their rightful demands in any way
Total disregard of citizens. Only hostile labeling, russian disinformation and dehumanizing of citizens.
Peaceful protestors have gathered in front of the Parliament Building in Tbilisi, Georgia, to voice their concern over the repressive direction of their country. They have every right to democracy, to freedom of expression and basic human rights.
We are here to support them.
@WadeWilson1111@elinavaltonen Stop this GD trolling. If we were in anything resembling Finnish political practice, people would not need to stand in the streets for 300 days. They would have already be listened to. Stop this disinformation.
@elinavaltonen Thank you for your support Minister! Please, continue keeping people of Georgia in mind. 300 plus days of peaceful protests is a proof that EU integration is a collective choice of Georgian people, even if it is no longer the choice of those who wield power.
The evidence of Russia’s war crimes in Ukraine is plain to see.
Unpunished crimes only encourage new atrocities.
Today, we are providing the first €10 million for the Special Tribunal to ensure that those responsible for the crimes of aggression do not escape justice.
@RikardJozwiak USSR labels are completly misguided both in terms of historical accuracy, essence or semblance. It is merely a symbol for Qotsism. EU should sanction POSTV&Imedi as they spread deliberate lies, demolish EU values and use aray of manipulation tactics to downgrade Europe/EU.
"We in Donbas are waiting for Ukraine — please, pass it on."
Natalia Shylo, a schoolteacher from Horlivka, Donetsk region, spent nearly four years in Russian captivity.
In the summer of 2021, Natalia left Kyiv to visit her ill mother back home, but she never made it to her destination. Russian occupiers detained her at the checkpoint, accusing her of allegedly spying for Ukraine. At first, Natalia was taken to a temporary detention facility, and later transferred to a pre-trial detention center. In April, Ukraine's Main Directorate of Intelligence secured her release. She now lives in Kyiv.
Natalia told that people in Donbas are waiting for Ukraine:
"Elderly people are waiting, people my age are waiting. Even children are learning the Ukrainian language.
Donbas is waiting for Ukraine. The people who are still there have nowhere to go. Elderly grandmothers came up to me and said: 'We may not live to see it, but we believe Ukraine will come. We’re waiting so much. We don’t need this Russian pension.'"
