In a normal summer we’d be saying it’s a hot Sunday in Newmarket. Very warm during the night; currently 22 degrees, forecast high 25. But compared to what we’ve been having it’s refreshingly cool. #Gus still has his wet jacket on to keep himself cool, though #Merrijig

All good this morning with yesterday evening’s @NewmarketRace runners #MaithMarOr & #Dereham after their exertions on a hot day. Everything was done very sensibly & thoroughly in difficult conditions to make sure the horses could compete safely. Impressive.

Can confirm I must be watered on both sides to avoid inconsistent growth it could affect my handsomeness. Atavus still refuses to be watered, must be his ages, apparently old men are more difficult which seems wrong as I have only gottens batter with ages. 🍎
