@MikeRogersForMI Any reasonable person who sees this ad would be very off put by it. Not by the people being portrayed, but by the mental state and capacity of those who made it. AI ads such as this one should be banned and those swayed or encouraged by it should be evaluated.
I just saw an ai generated by the United Democracy Project(AIPAC affiliated) attacking Abdul to try and buy Stevens a victory. These are Republican tactics by corporatists and fascists and no self-proclaimed Democrat should ever associate with these ghouls. Fuck Haley Stevens!
Can’t wait to watch Haley Stevens entitled dream to be a senator for the corporations get crushed. No more establishment do-nothing corporate dems, it’s time for a new Democratic Party for the working class. Vote Abdul El-Sayed!
You cannot be truly anti-imperialism if you do not oppose Russia’s invasion of Ukraine or without supporting Ukraine efforts to maintain their democratic self-determination. Russia is a fascist and imperialist power attempting to conquer its neighbor and should be opposed.
I just saw for one of if not the first time here in Michigan, a Haley Stevens for senate sign, and what do you know it was right in front of a mansion. Found that kinda funny.
GAZA: THE SUFFERING CONTINUES
Today in Gaza, most of the TV cameras are gone and media interest has declined. But, more than nine months after the announcement of a supposed “ceasefire”, the suffering of the Palestinian people continues.
Today, 92% of housing units in Gaza are damaged or destroyed, 70% of the entire population lacks adequate housing and is forced to live in makeshift shelters, 86% of agricultural water wells have been damaged, the vast majority of households report significant challenges in accessing safe and clean sanitation facilities and 90% of all energy infrastructure has been destroyed.
And what about the children? Today in Gaza, 91% of school-aged children do not have sustained access to in-person education, 93% of school buildings will require full reconstruction or major rehabilitation to be functional again and 70% of infants and young children under two years of age are experiencing moderate to severe food insecurity.
All of this is taking place after the horrific destruction that Netanyahu’s extremist government brought to Gaza over the last three years: more than 73,000 Palestinians killed and 173,000 wounded — mostly women, children and the elderly. In addition, virtually the entire infrastructure of Gaza was destroyed.
Israel now controls an estimated 70% of Gaza, well beyond what they agreed to, and has built dozens of military outposts inside Gaza since the “ceasefire” began. In the nine months since the “ceasefire” was announced, Israel has killed at least 1,150 Palestinians, including a family of six last week.
Now, as if to remove any doubt about their intentions, senior leaders of the Netanyahu government are moving to make the occupation permanent. Recently, a number of government ministers led thousands of settlers to the Gaza border demanding new illegal Jewish settlements be built there. National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir stood up and said "Gaza is ours."
The shameful fact is that the United States is complicit in everything that is happening in Gaza. We have funneled tens of billions of dollars in military aid to an Israeli government that has consistently violated international law and whose leader is a war criminal.
The good news is that the American people are catching on. More and more Americans — Democrats, Republicans and independents — are demanding that we stop all military aid to Israel and use our considerable leverage to end the suffering of the Palestinian people.
Enough is enough! Congress must listen to the American people. NO MORE U.S. MILITARY AID TO ISRAEL.
Remember when liberals pretended to care about ‘vote blue no matter who’? Well, it turns out ‘vote blue no matter who only applies when the candidate is PRO-genocide. If the candidate is Anti-genocide then apparently you should do as you please.
@HaleyforMI “What you don’t have in integrity you could never make up for in experience” - Zohran Mamdani to Cuomo, but it applies perfectly to you as well
@LeftyWinter … have a tendency toward the establishment and its corresponding problematic politics while younger black voters tend to be more progressive. He said this and asked the black host for his input, while saying it wasn’t his own place as a white person to discuss the issue.
@LeftyWinter Why is anybody treating this ‘controversy’ like it is in any way serious. It was Will Lawrence on a podcast called ‘Black Internationalism’, talking to a black host who was agreeing with him, and asking about while pointing out that older black politicians/leaders …🧵
@tweetsfromstar As a libertarian socialist who opposes many of Hasan’s more tankie-esque views, I don’t really give a shit if he’s a tankie if he’s advocating for the right things/people. As long as he keeps pushing for positive change he is all good in my book. Stop shilling for Stevens.
Climate change is here. It's fueling record wildfires that are causing dangerously bad air quality.
Big Oil has spent decades buying off politicians of BOTH parties & stopping climate action.
I'm proud to be the only MI07 candidate who's rejecting fossil fuel money.
Don’t you just love being able to see and even smell the consequences of climate change around you and yet still half of the country refuses to acknowledge it’s existence and most of the other half only proposes milquetoast solutions approved by the corporations responsible.
The ‘Abdul is sexist’ ads piss me off so much, man. Like apparently in order to be an acceptable candidate you must never have criticized a woman. We better not lose because of this BS.
@Sarah_pdx Personally, I am more in favor of reforming the senate than abolishing it. Perhaps keeping 100 seats to keep a higher level of legislature (two step process, more advanced representatives, etc) but make it proportional to population like the house and allow its boundaries (1/2)
