Nationally, they’re the only university that is:

1. Top 20 in academics
2. Top 15 CFP ranking
3. Top 12 in Kenpom
4. Top 20 in Women’s Bball
5. Top 15 in baseball (Baseball America)
6. Top 4 (No. 1 seed) in W Soccer

The whole "X shouldn't be ranked" discussion, to justify what teams' wins are worthwhile, should be a red herring.

Because being a ranked team shouldn't mean you're a great win in the first place.

When we rank teams, we should look at that team's record, but evaluated based on the quality/power rating of who they played. Whether a team hits or misses a game-winning field goal to go 6-2 has no impact on how hard they are to beat two weeks later.

Penn State and Auburn are 3-6. They're also FEI #20 and #22. They're tough, good wins.

Georgia Tech deserves to be ranked, but at FEI #44 they shouldn't be viewed as a better win for Georgia than beating Auburn.

This also solves the "ranked when you play them" vs "ranked now" debate. Teams rarely plummet in power ratings save if they were badly overrated to start the year. It's mostly consistent despite records.

Examples of teams that should be considered tougher wins than they are, per FEI ratings (@bcfremeau):

#21 Missouri
#22 Auburn
#23 Illinois
#24 LSU
#26 Kansas State
#27 Washington
#28 Florida State
#30 Nebraska

Teams that are deservedly ranked, but are overrated as "big wins" (all mostly due to the ACC having uneven schedules, and crazy upsets defining standings):
#38 Louisville
#44 Georgia Tech
#47 Virginia

Part of the issue with this is it doesn’t account for the dramatic drop in rankings that comes with losing to Vandy, assumed to be a bad loss for teams this year just because it might’ve been in years past. Not our fault we take their souls after we beat teams
