If funding continues the way it is, there will be no such thing as a "Teaching Assistant" anymore. Classes will just have 1 teacher, regardless of their need or vulnerability, and that's if they can even manage to recruit one. This government are destroying the whole profession.

As a long serving Y6 teacher, can I say how annoying it is when people act like Y6 is the holy grail of teaching? Like it’s some wild promotion to get in there? All year groups are hard. Y6 actually involves the least ‘new’ teaching. Imagine TEACHING SOMEONE HOW TO READ!

There's been quite a bit of discussion on differentiation (again) recently. As this topic evokes strong opinions I thought it might be useful to unpack the evidence a bit. Firstly, we need to look at what we mean by differentiation, there are a number of different definitions.
