HB1081 will give Baltimore a seat at the table as decisions are made regarding major investments and projects in our region. This is a significant step forward towards the public transportation system we deserve.
The MTA Reform Act has officially been signed into law! Over the summer of 2025, I was appointed to serve on the legislative Work Group on the Organization of the Maryland Transit Administration.
HB1081 will implement the workgroup’s recommendations, including establishing a Board of Directors for Baltimore Core Transit Service, establishing the Commuter Services Advisory Board, and repealing the Baltimore Regional Transit Commission.
Keeping with the theme of economic development, I was thrilled to speak on a panel at the Accelerate Maryland Economic Forum. The conversation focused on policies to support small businesses and encourage growth. It was a fantastic discussion. I look forward to many more.
It has been a busy week for the Edelson Office. As always, we are focused on economic development. We had the honor of joining the Governor as he signed HB1232. This bill, that I worked on in coordination with @MayorBMScott, @BDCBaltimore, the @DowntownBalt.
HB1232 permits Baltimore City to enter into PILOT agreements for certain economic development projects and is absolutely essential to revitalizing our Downtown.
Baltimore fought for this. Maryland is accelerating nearly $25 million to jump-start a new bus division - the linchpin of the BMORE Bus plan and a major step toward expanding service for the workers, students, and families who depend on it every day. Grateful for Del. Edelson and every advocate and rider who packed hearings and rallied in Annapolis to make this happen.
Baltimore fought and Governor Moore funded the start of implementing the BMORE BUS plan for better bus service. Keep fighting Baltimore until Governor Moore funds finishing it, too.
P.S. Always great to see elected leaders riding the bus. @ElectEdelson@Zeke_Cohen
Proud to support my friend and Senate President Bill Ferguson alongside our community. We are knocking doors in the pouring rain. This is what it looks like when you stand up with and for people.
Results matter. Integrity matters. Let’s win this for Baltimore.
Lord- headline is not fair. You all know that Senator Ferguson could NOT fundraise during the time period noted, because he is prohibited from doing so during the legislative session.
VOTE FOR SENATOR BILL FERGUSON. full stop.
A full day in Southeast Baltimore, out on doors and talking with neighbors.
Sharing what we got done in Annapolis and listening to what’s on people’s minds. There’s a lot of both.
And of course, it’s always great to see City Springs Principal Rhonda Richetta.
Grateful for the volunteers who joined @ElectEdelson and me today.
Maryland Senators, for lower costs, more transportation choices, and less pollution, pass the Transportation and Climate Alignment Act (HB 437/SB 59) before midnight on April 13th!

It’s 6pm on a Saturday. Do you know where your Baltimore City House Delegation members are? Yes, we are hard at work debating and voting on important legislation for the entire state of Maryland. We started at 10am and are still going strong! We will sleep eventually…
Thank you to Pluribus News for covering the Transportation and Climate Alignment Act in their recent article. My Senate partner, @shellyhettleman and I are so happy to see that our legislation is making waves across the country!
