@DrewSav Brazil uses voting machines and has done so for about 30 years. Also, voting is compulsory there so the election authorities can plan better for turnout.

@eidnasxo @JORRIT369 Prior to Rhogam? Most of the time, the first baby was fine, but mom’s body would attack all future babies in utero. Lots of miscarriages, infants failing to thrive, or mom’s health suffered. (Fellow Rh - mama here)

@jenvanlaar Some counties in CA are at the mercy of the other counties when it comes to results for shared districts. One large county had to deal with a smaller county’s ballots behaving badly a couple years ago, and the 1st county was blamed for late returns that weren’t their fault.

@jenvanlaar Short answer: processing mail ballots means logging arrival, verifying signature/assigned precinct, and then batching ballots into groups. It’s a relatively quick undertaking compared to manual adjudication and tabulation of ballots.

Get this: In Hudson County, voting machine screens show two Column A's but no Column B. Democrats are on Column B. This only affects Spanish-language screens.

My teenagers are planning a baby shower for family friend. The guest list is gonna be lit, because half of the invited guests dated each other, the other half are related by blood or marriage and we can’t keep up with who’s still on good terms and who isn’t.
