I genuinely don’t understand how ppl don’t get this. To be “provided for” means you are, in many ways, at the mercy of someone else. They have a certain amount of control and authority over you. The relationship btwn a provider and a beneficiary is always a transactional one.
people discuss the domestic violence rate of queer women and assume it’s because masculine women are more violent than men and not that lesbian and bisexual women are politically vulnerable, more comfortable talking about and recognizing abuse, or that men are hurting us lol
“AI will allow regular people to write & make films.” What the fuck are you even saying? Regular people have always been writing & making films. What you’re talking about is finding loopholes & not doing the work in order to label yourself a filmmaker or writer. Bitchmade shit.
the whole point of making money is paying for dinner for ur friends and buying a little gift for your cousins and getting flowers for ur parents and giving it away to ur neighbors and every once in a while following a little dream in ur head
BOUNCER: gonna need to see some photo ID
ME: I only have my abstract expressionist ID. is that ok? [unfolds my wallet and hands him a little piece of red paper with two blue lines running down it vertically]
BOUNCER: what a powerful composition, the sense of space,
ME: thanks
I think that we need to be more curious about what grosses us out and why.
I don’t think people realize that majority of their preferences aren’t even theirs…
If you're not careful, you forget you're supposed to be a helpful, compassionate, understanding, loving, dependable person. If people aren't holding you to it, you're either surrounded by stinkers or they've picked up that you're too stubborn to fix it.
This is why you can’t bring back Y2K. It starts with big ass jeans and clipart, but the next thing you know the government wants to invade the Middle East for WMDs.
Not really doing another round of this absolutely useless argument where the state can employ any and every kind of violence against people, but the second someone throws a rock at their car, the person gets lectured about how violence is not the way.
