2025 books read. Not pictured, Lutz’s Backwardness. Best of the year: The Mountain Lion by Jean Stafford, with Purdy’s Cabot Wright Begins close behind.
@geoffwilt I read Nabokov’s Dozen and immediately bought the Vintage International. People seem to overlook his short stories, but they’re some of the best I’ve ever read.
@EmmettStinson Every time her name appears, I am more and more happy with myself that I purchased for cheap a signed copy of Praiseworthy at my local bookstore.
@nosubstance Alexis is more of the cultural moment and I can see her being picked over Murnane for that reason. Her fiction of course is fantastic, but my sensibilities favour Murnane.
