So, I really liked my coworkers at REI but the corporate side has been eroding the founding principles of the coop and their recent union busting is really disappointing to learn about

As someone who formerly worked at REI, the “70% of our profits goes back to members, nonprofits and workers” statistic they tell to the public is misleading. Almost all of that 70% is just the wages we get paid for our labor which they disguise by lumping it in with the rest.
