They'll say things like intangibles or the psychological aspect of the game is total bs, yet fail to realize that those two things are called context, which serves as THE VERY BASIS behind the research question that generates their beloved numbers. Box score watching isn't sports nor will you 100% understand sports that way. Sports are PARTICIPATION BASED, meaning you have to PARTICIPATE either actively (ex: players, coaches, execs, etc) or passively (ex: fans, spectators) to truly grasp it.
