Arguing with a misogynist feels a lot like arguing with a racist… it’s like you think you’re having a disagreement about one issue, then realize you’re actually arguing against an entire worldview that depends on seeing another group of people as inherently beneath them 😭
But guys nonese would you rather that the underprivileged be the ones protesting ? Even if it was just the privileged protesting (which it's not) ISN'T THAT A GOOD USE OF PRIVILEGE ???
Remember when the RIB spokesperson held a press conference in 2024 to warn women who used the #menaretrash now they are quiet seeing all the harassment women are enduring on and offline
Ladies....im so proud of you....dont let up...nobody is coming to save you..not us..not the police...not your fellow women...& definitely not the 64%...YOU have to save YOURSELF 🫶🏾
More importantly the sexualization of women has nothing to do with what they wear but the perception attributed to that attire. A woman can be fully covered and still be sexualized because women's bodies are conditioned to perceived as sexual objects.
If senior journalists like @AngelMutabaruka &others can freely make call for women to be abused with no shame&accountability it mean"gendered policing of women’s bodies is normalized"=Not an offense anyone has the right to abuse women."Nous sommes à la merci de qui que ce soit.
This has to be a special kind of self inflicted humiliation because why are you sitting in the middle of men talking about a body you also have, vulgarly. Kikiiiing????? the lengths some of you will go to distinguish yourselves from other women in front of men needs to be studied
how do we validate the idea that women’s bodies are inherently sexual&then use that perception to justify how they dress, whether they can enter a place?
At some point, we have to ask: is the problem women’s bodies, or how society chooses to see them, or how men are comfortable.
Minister, with respect, this framing avoids the central issue.
A government cannot leave “decency” undefined, then allow officials to enforce it according to personal, cultural or moral instinct. That replaces law with discretion and discretion backed by state power is where the danger begins.
People are free to debate morality. Governments are not free to manufacture offences through interpretation.
If conduct is prohibited, legislate it clearly, debate it publicly and subject it to constitutional scrutiny. If you cannot do that, then the State has no business improvising restrictions on citizens at the door of a concert.
It’s interesting how men can pee on the side of the street, walk around shirtless especially when there’s a game and it’s excused as showing excitement or simply “men being men”
So are we really concerned about public indecency or are we looking for an excuse to oppress women?
