Proud to share my latest feature in Vogue Italia - landing during Milan Fashion Week. The article opens conversation on the opening up of Italy’s perfume world, and the BIPOC creators, chroniclers & changemakers who have transformed — and are transforming — it in Italy and beyond
In today's The Globe and Mail: my cover story on the incomparable Annie Lennox — a feature based on more than an hour face-to-face in New York City with the legend, diving into her tri-con status as a feminist, queer, and fashion trailblazer. Total career high.
In a world of destructive noise... Barbara Tucker @imbarbaratucker is a glorious voice that slices negative vibes & creates unity via music. Read my interview with this legend c/o @INMagazineCA 💙🪩🎧https://t.co/k6vrnnn6EX
Fierce, queer and fashion-forward, Samuel Mariño is shattering opera’s limits with style & sound. Mariño opens up to IN Magazine about his muses, his mission, & why making space for queer voices in classical music isn’t just important – it’s an act of radical recovery:

Soprano Samuel Mariño is one of the most fascinating vocalists I’ve ever spoken to. Abused when his voice didn’t lower the way boys’ usually do when puberty hits, he dove into opera, throat first. His revenge is his success. Check my @INMagazineCA story: https://t.co/ltOBuBwtwq
Disco turned 55 years old in Feb so I wrote a love letter to the powerful Black female vocalists and Queer innovators who turned the beat around. The brilliant Candi Staton @IamCandiStaton & Kathy Sledge @KathySledge were interviewed.🪩

Janelle channeling Janet. Doechii channeling Madonna. Chappell deep into Degas. Gaga as Nosferatu. The top Grammy looks that made a statement on the red carpet as seen by me in @globeandmail#Grammys2025 https://t.co/R4LdUc9ZYC
For @vogueitalia I had the honor of speaking with 14 incredible Italian trailblazers in celebration of Black History Months—plural, as Italy observes the occasion at different times of the year.

It’s so sad to watch our new Government slowly dismantling all the Freedoms we have been fighting for and WON over the years. 🏳️🌈💔
Don’t give up the Fight!

Few singer-songwriters have been able to bridge the worlds of fashion and pop music in the way Jody Watley has. Watley’s body of work has shaken zeitgeists, broken new ground : https://t.co/lFlpGLMvBj
For our November/December cover story @jodywatley opens up on disrupting and diversifying the dance floor and the fashion world for more than four decades:

Very timely. Thought I’d share this excerpt and a reminder about heartbreak, setbacks ..from my new cover story excellent interview with @INMagazineCA 🇨🇦- an insightful conversation with @ElioIannacci .
Elio-Your latest track, “Everlasting,” has a lyric that I want to talk about: ‘Don’t let the worst of life get the best of you.’ When did you embrace that idea?
Jody - It started as a little girl. I was always so determined, so I feel I was born with that line.
Honestly, ‘Everlasting’ has now jumped to the top of my favourite songs l’ve written. It’s so important, especially in these times. Suicide rates are high. People get depressed when they go on social media and they see made-up lives.
There are so many public political divides. A lot of us suffer many defeats, but that doesn’t mean we are defeated. We’ve got to all take some punches here and there, but these struggles don’t have to knock us out or be the end of us. I hate boxing - I don’t know why I’m using that analogy, but l’ve triumphed through so much. I forever want people to remember to stay everlasting and make it through - it’s become a mantra for me.
~
“Heartbreak-you’ll have some setbacks too.. don’t let the worst of life - get the best of you.. sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, gotta stay Up, just keep moving on - stay everlasting..” - Jody Watley
