I’m not asking with cynicism. I’m genuinely wondering where humanity stands today—and whether there are still things that, no matter the country, no matter the era, we collectively agree should never be for sale.
I’m curious where our priorities actually sit, from top to bottom, across different countries and cultures.
At what point does profit stop being the deciding factor? Is there a line money cannot cross, or does that line simply move depending on who is in power?
@pmarca Population is not growing that fast hence whatever you grow is b/c external markets mainly and they eventually copy it. Just like auto, manufacturing, etc. yes you can bring overseas jobs back but you moved offshore to support global markets not USA. We are solving wrong problem
@joeroganhq He’s a great mind but to be honest he was obviously so selfish over course of last couple years that I don’t trust him anymore hence not using his ai at all. It might be good but he becomes one of those guys along Chamath and others alike that suck out oxygen from the room
@lennysan Your conversation left me with more questions than answered. I still like his thinking. It’s just you put efforts around questions he is still not ready 109%
@lennysan@amasad No people No economy There’s no economy on Moon or Mars right now
Same with distribution No people no value Agents are continuation of people one way or another

@paulg@ycombinator@pmarca Yes it’s easier as they been through deeper levels of idea maze trying to escape for themselves. Only size of the market is not guaranteed. I know it’s not the same thing but “not everyone who criticizes power is a democrat” is something that plays in my head
@pmarca Threw me back in the flashback Remember staying in a line with paper tickets for butter or meat I get really cold sweat when i hear people talking about USSR as a great time. It was great because when whole communities try to survive you bond stronger but it doesn’t mean it’s ok
