The DH world is gathering this week in Graz for #DH2023:
this first day is dedicated to #DigitalHumanities workshops.
here are some first impressions of @DH2023Graz

[Elisabeth Koenigshofer @ElisabethKoeni3]

@ellen_pilsworth ...but as it is a minority language, the text soon turned into some odd Church Slavonic/Polish/Russian mess

[Elisabeth Koenigshofer @ElisabethKoeni3]

@ellen_pilsworth ...and tell you about him whatever it thinks it knows.
We tried to find some literature suggestions the other day for an unfamiliar topic. Turned out it just made up a list of 5-10 books and articles that don't exist.
A colleague tried to have it generate text in Sorbian...

My Erasmus friend @DrUlrikeKuhl used @OpenAI #Dalle to create a children's book. Love the creativity and hands on use

[Dr. Ulrike Kuhl @DrUlrikeKuhl]

My son loves our 🤖 vacuum, but children's books rarely feature smart household appliances. So I've teamed up with #Dalle @OpenAI to write my own 📖: Proudly presenting "Robot Robi‘s Great Crumb Quest", about a curious robot going out in the world to find crumbs. 🧵[1/2]

@DrUlrikeKuhl @OpenAI @github Love that you used open AI!

This.

[Gary Brannan @garybrannan]

I have genuinely spent 10 minutes starting at this but, no, it really DOES appear to be true that a bunch of cryptobros just spent €2.6 MILLION - 100x the asking price - for a book at auction in the mistaken belief that they would therefore own the copyright in it.
