My baby turns 2 in a month. Here’s every country he’s been to before his second birthday:
🇺🇸 USA — Montana, California (multiple trips)
🇵🇦 Panama — Panama City & Bocas del Toro (many trips)
🇨🇳 China — Shenzhen, Lijiang, Guangzhou, Hong Kong (2 months)
🇹🇭 Thailand — Bangkok (weekend)
🇨🇷 Costa Rica — San José (a few days)
🇨🇴 Colombia — Medellín, Barranquilla + surrounding areas (~3 weeks)
🇵🇪 Peru — Lima (~6 weeks)
🇩🇪 Germany — multiple cities (~2 months)
🇳🇱 Netherlands — multiple cities (1 week)
🇨🇿 Czechia — Prague + small towns (~3 weeks)
🇬🇪 Georgia — road trip from Tbilisi to Batumi (~2 weeks)
That’s 11 countries so far… I might be forgetting some.
Plus we still have a month to add a couple more 😁
Took this photo today of an “unattended store” in a touristy ancient town in Lijiang, China. Grab what you want and pay by QR code. Nobody’s watching; we trust you. Meanwhile in Paris…
If you want to build a ship, don't teach the AI to yearn for the vast and endless sea. Instead, drum up the robots to gather wood, divide the work and give orders. - inspired by Antoine de Saint-Exupery
Let's leave the yearning to the humans.
While I'm generally bullish on introducing kids to AI early, this gives me pause. I want them to have an AI buddy to talk to them about their interests, but not to take over our role as the "nice permissive parent" constantly affirming them without any kind of correction or guidance. We had that as Millennials even without AI, and it didn't work out so well for us (or for society). 😅
@pitdesi In Panama it's often the first offering that comes up despite being on the other side of the city, and they have buy-one-get-one-free specials which is irresistible to Germans ;-)
@Wolgadeitscher Austria sounds more like Hutterites (who mixed with Mennonites in Souther Russia) but then again LaTene goes back pretty far, and iirc people with LaTene genes ended up all around Northern Europe.
Astro the baby's first international trip starts in a @Tesla model Y and ends with a ride in a lucky @cybertruck. From Guangzhou, China to San Francisco, California.
