IU professors gather with students in their graduation robes. Heard the mother of one student thank a professor for looking out for her kid. @WFIUWTIUNews
IU Bloomington Library Faculty overwhelmingly condemned “the use of violence and excessive force” against protesters, called for a lift of campus bans, reversal of the Dunn Meadow policy change and the resignation of the president and provost in a vote yesterday.

Faculty president: Whitten must go. She will continue to “make one questionable decision after another resulting in one terrible headline after another, and then blame the chaos she has played an integral role in creating on somebody else.”
“It's time for President Whitten to put an end to her amateurish handling of campus protests before someone gets seriously hurt.” - State Rep. Matt Pierce (D-Bloomington)
Stories abound of Pam Whitten’s cruelty to staff, phoniness, misplaced arrogance, narcissism, and intolerance of dissent. It’s always been clear she has no academic values. Knowing she was responsible for this brutal mayhem again today brings everything about her into focus.
Cancelling the Halaby exhibition over a concern that IU "couldn't ensure adequate security" seems pretty fucking thin when you see how lavishly IU is willing to spend on private security and police overtime to intimidate nonviolent protestors.
2/2: But the policy was changed yesterday by an anonymous group of functionaries without any clear authority in anticipation of today's Gaza protest, allowing tents to be torn down immediately. That makes it no longer viewpoint neutral and raises serious First Amendment problems.
