🇺🇸 September 11 — Never Forget.

I remember exactly where I was.

I was a freshman in college, sitting in my theater class, when everything began to unfold. We were all sent home for the day, not truly understanding the magnitude of what had happened, what was still to come, or just how profoundly that day would change our lives and our country from that moment forward.

I remember the heartbreak. I remember the fear, confusion, and disbelief. Like so many others, I watched our country experience a level of pain that words could never fully describe.

But I also remember what happened afterward.

I remember an America that came together. ❤️🤍💙

For a moment, our differences didn’t seem so important. We weren’t focused on politics, backgrounds, beliefs, race, status, or everything that made us different. We were Americans.

We prayed for strangers. We hugged our families a little tighter. We checked on our neighbors. We thanked our first responders. We flew our flags proudly. We mourned together, supported one another, and reminded each other what it meant to be one nation.

We said we would never forget.

And 25 years later, sometimes I wonder if, while remembering what happened that day, we’ve forgotten a little of who we became in the days that followed.

We don’t have to agree on everything to love and care for one another. We don’t have to look alike, vote alike, worship alike, or think alike to recognize the humanity in each other.

Today, I remember the innocent lives lost, the first responders who ran toward danger while others were running away, the families whose lives were forever changed, and all those who sacrificed in the days, months, and years that followed.

And I hope we remember something else, too: the unity that rose from unimaginable tragedy.

Let’s not allow the lives lost or the sacrifices made to be in vain. This is why I make sure my kids know what happened and who we became when it did so that they know what America can be.

May we choose compassion over contempt. Grace over judgment. Love over hate. And unity over division.

Because we are, and always will be, better when we stand united than we will ever be when we’re divided.

🇺🇸 Never forget September 11, 2001. Never forget those we lost. And maybe, just as importantly, never forget who we showed ourselves capable of being when we stood together.

DFW Residential and CRE Market Monday’s Snapshot

🏡🏢 DFW buyers have more leverage—but less inventory and a higher mortgage rate are keeping this market nuanced.

As a DFW native, here’s what I’m watching this week:

📍 The August median list price was $425,000, down 1.2% year over year.
⏳ Homes spent a median 58 days on the market—four days longer than July.
🏷️ 27.5% of listings had a price cut, giving prepared buyers room to negotiate on the right property.
📈 The average 30-year fixed rate rose to 6.71%, so payment strategy matters just as much as purchase price.

Commercially, Southlake’s $120 million Shivers Farm is moving toward construction, Fort Worth is competing for a major HARTING manufacturing and headquarters project, and Dallas saw investment in both a historic West End office property and The Centrum in Oak Lawn.

One important caution: Prosper’s Planning and Zoning Commission recommended denial of the proposed $580 million Project Tomahawk data center. That is not the final Town Council decision, but it shows why zoning, power, infrastructure and community acceptance must be evaluated before treating an announced project as a certainty.

The takeaway? DFW is not one market. The best opportunity depends on the city, property, financing, competition and your goals.

Monday was Mondaying lol so today will be Market Monday - the roll it back version 🤣

🏡🏢 DFW continues to create opportunity—but this is a market where the details matter more than the headline.

As a DFW native, here’s what I’m watching this week:

🏷️ The latest metro data show a median list price near $439,000, while 28.3% of listings have received a price reduction.

⏳ Homes spent a median of 54 days on the market, giving many buyers more time to compare, inspect and negotiate.

📈 Freddie Mac’s 30-year average edged up slightly to 6.66%. Builder and seller financing assistance may still have a greater impact than a one-week rate move—but the APR and permanent payment must be reviewed.

Commercially, Fort Worth advanced a major data-center plan, Hall Group closed on an Uptown office tower, and Celina’s first Costco opened.

In Colleyville, developers announced an approximately 83,000-square-foot speculative flex and industrial project—a notable addition of modern commercial space in a supply-constrained Northeast Tarrant County market. The development could create new options for small businesses, service providers and light-industrial users, although leasing demand and tenant commitments still need to be demonstrated.

The takeaway? DFW is not one market. The right strategy depends on the city, property, competition, financing and confirmed development activity surrounding it.

One of my favorite traditions with my kids is getting out and experiencing new things together—finding fun things to do, trying different experiences, and especially checking out new (or new to us 😂) restaurants and places to eat!

This past weekend, we tried LaLa Land and LaRue, and neither disappointed! 🤎

☕ LaLa Land had amazing drinks, and I especially loved that they have a kids menu so my smallest could get in on the fun too! Devon tried the Maka Toast and loved it!

🍓 And LaRue… the frozen strawberry matcha might seriously be the BEST I’ve ever had! Then there were the brioches, cakes, and everything else that looked too good to pass up—so yes, we got a little bit of everything. 😂

But no matter where we go or what we try, the best part for me is always spending that time with my kids. ❤️ Getting out, experiencing life together, laughing, trying new things, and making memories that we’ll all treasure—that’s what it’s really about for me.

Here’s to more adventures, more experiences, more good food, and lots more memories with my favorite people! 🥰
