I know there is a lot of talk about QBs sliding… I slid my whole career & never took a hit like you see now & that’s when hitting was allowed!
I don’t believe it’s the sliding that’s the problem, it’s the TIMING of the slide! QBs are pushing envelope bc they are more protected & they expect defenders to just assume they aren’t going to keep running… bad assumption!
Go down early or just be a running back - the in-between is the problem IMO!
Bang bang play. Gotta let up sooner and Gotta slide sooner. Just for the optics. What have I told y’all about slow motion influencing how you see a play? The antics hurt the defender, but that was just some football. Call me desensitized 🤷🏾♂️
Alabama fans didn’t “quit”. They were booing the play calling and are tired of getting off to slow starts. Alabama has a standard. The fans are holding the team to that standard.
James Cook: “You know I was thinking, it would be really awesome if you could let me rush for a touchdown”
Josh Allen: “Yeah but, if you score, how am I going to score? Think about it”
At some point an OC decided the current system for cadences was too complex? Answer? We decide we’re no longer using words and numbers but instead let’s wait for the QB to clap his hands then we’ll get the defense by surprise. Make it stop.
