Would you believe that it's a hospital dedicated to an airborne disease, tuberculosis?
The Texas Center for Infectious Diseases, while not a large hospital, does have 170 employees.
In 1996, they gave everyone reusable N100 elastomeric respirators.

👇A must-see video explainer by Dr. Allen Haddrell (@ukhadds), who discovered a crucial new insight into airborne disease transmission.
The public health world better pays close attention: we now know that indoor CO2 monitoring is even more important than previously thought.
Good application for wildfire season, @CarrollConnor! @EPA researchers have shown the #CorsiRosenthalBox to have a relatively high clean air delivery rate for wildfire smoke. Others have shown high CADR for particle sizes relevant to wildfire smoke.
Having a degree in psychology, mental health addiction, social work or other helping professions or license in the law doesn't guarantee that you are domestic violence-informed. It requires specialized training and education. Judges and others making key decisions related to children need to understand this distinction.
Social worker: She let him back in the house, even though there was an protective order in place.
Me: (a little bit snarky): Were you there when she let him? Did you see her open the door for him?
Social worker: No, no. I wasn't there. I didn't actual see it. He was just there when I went to the house.
Me: So given his history of violence, threats and control and given that the judge made the order against him, it would be better, and more accurate, to say "Dad chose to violate the court order" and not assume that "she let him back in" but to consider how this was a continuation of his pattern of abuse.

#TBT In March, our @UC_CRNA Nurse Anesthesia Program was well-represented by 11 students who showcased their projects and networked with other CRNAs at the Ohio State Association of Nurse Anesthetists (@osanacrna) conference.
@BeechwoodA The “Legend” is such a wonderful coach and person! As a mom of 2 daughters who are athletes, we (my parents and I) have said over the years, would Chris have handled it like that?! Chris, thank you for the impact your positive coaching has had on my life and many others!
Doctors and nurses get infected in their own hospitals unfortunately.
But there is one hospital in America that has had zero of these infections in over 25 years.
Not one single doctor or nurse in that hospital has been infected.
Not one.
So, I spoke to people getting food at a food bank and here are some things I learned from those in need:
1. Everyone donates Kraft Mac and Cheese in the box. They can rarely use it because it needs milk and butter which is hard to get from regular food banks.
2. Boxed milk is a treasure, as kids need it for cereal which they also get a lot of.
3. Everyone donates pasta sauce and spaghetti noodles.
4. They cannot eat all the awesome canned veggies and soup unless you put a can opener in too or buy pop tops.
5. Oil is a luxury but needed for Rice a-Roni which they also get a lot of.
6. Spices or salt and pepper would be a real Christmas gift.
7. Tea bags and coffee make them feel like you care.
8. Sugar and flour are treats.
9. They fawn over fresh produce donated by farmers and grocery stores.
10. Seeds are cool in Spring and Summer because growing can be easy for some.
11. They rarely get fresh meat.
12. Tuna and crackers make a good lunch.
13. Hamburger Helper goes nowhere without ground beef.
14. They get lots of peanut butter and jelly but usually not sandwich bread.
15. Butter or margarine is nice too.
16. Eggs are a real commodity.
17. Cake mix and frosting makes it possible to make a child’s birthday cake.
18. Dishwashing detergent is very expensive and is always appreciated.
19. Feminine hygiene products are a luxury and women will cry over that.
20. Everyone loves Stove Top Stuffing.
In all the years I have donated food at the Holidays, I bought what I thought they wanted, but have never asked. I am glad I did. If you are helping a Family this Christmas, maybe this can help you tailor it more. It does for me!
