Some simple guidelines:
If you can't pay a living wage don't run a business.
If you can't raise animals without polluting don't run a farm.
If you can't be elected without lying don't run for office.
@Sarah_StatsAko I don’t know any info about it, but I am really really hoping that we will have statistics as a separate set of standards similar to how science, chemistry, biology and physics are all separate.
Loving making videos with @Powtoon ! Great animations! key ideas in probability for my year 11, 12 and 13’s. https://t.co/PMXisMg76G. And https://t.co/TDXcXxJisW and https://t.co/ybhSl35Lmw. And https://t.co/knu89wMoaT and https://t.co/4hjgSmoTLH and https://t.co/8oPhbYDHW6

Novopay can't pay teachers their pay rise or the one off payment for about 10 weeks. That's five pay rounds. Yet they could process recovering the pay for the day we were on strike within 1 pay round? Anyone else dubious about this disparity? #Novopay#NoPay#SameOldStory
@elsubash@benhilliam@Prabhsj Very interesting thought ..... I could post an image and get them to comment on features and conclusion ....
Pity we didn't think of this before doing the revision for year 11's ....
@MathsChatNZ A7: data they collect themselves - e.g. PE (wall sits, heights, gender, vegetarian/not etc), our year 13's like the visitor numbers time series (get to use a country their family has come from like malaysia, south africa etc), bungee experiments, reaction time experiments,
@annafergussonnz@MathsChatNZ A6: Agree - lots and lots of feedback. To me this is the crucial part in helping students develop their own "style" of writing about statistics. You give them the key ideas of what to write about (e.g. shape, center, spread) and then feedback on everything they write
@elsubash@MathsChatNZ A5: yes - you have to guide students as to what statistical ideas are important. The students then need to write the evaluation themselves, but they need to know where to start.
@elsubash@annafergussonnz@MathsChatNZ The prescriptive part is giving students enough framework to build a good question. Ask the english teachers how they teach students to write paragraphs etc ....

A3:
Level 3 - all 4 internals, then students choose 0, 1 or 2 externals
Level 2 - questionnaire, experiments, inference, simulation, stats reports, then students choose external or networks internal
@MathsChatNZ Level 3: 4 internals - Time series, bivariate, inference, experiments, and students choose 0, 1 or 2 externals
Level 2: Internals - Inference, experiments, stats reports, simulation, questionnaire design, then students choose either external or networks
@elsubash@KenClarkson3 Just wondering if anyone knows of a way to lock a desmos class activity after students have completed it. I'm setting up a test using teacher.desmos, and want to make sure that students can't go back into the activity afterwards. Any ideas?
I am a teacher from Aotearoa, NZ. Today I am striking. This grieves me. I love my country, I love my students, I love my staff, I love teaching. I DON’T love seeing the stress, strain, work load, exhaustion, of my colleagues. #BacktheTeachers#Bringoutthebest @NZPPTA
