I've been busy over the past few days, focusing on my sequel to "Trapped in County Lines: Missing." I had the opportunity to chat with the dedicated school liaison team and Head of Safeguarding, DS Graeme Wright from @NYorksPolice , at the City of York Safeguarding Children Partnership @YorkSCP . I also had valuable discussions with the @NSPCC team about the crucial role that early intervention education plays in protecting children.
The animated stories are freely available on my YouTube channel, and printed copies are available in the NSPCC online shop, raising funds for #Childline.

Today is @UNESCO#WorldPoetryDay2025 - I’m sharing the winning poem from my national initiative by Alexandru Cocosila @CadetsWMP@WMPolice. I invited children and young people age 12-21 to write about their understanding or experiences of the complexities of #countylines exploitation. We have showcased the top 40 poems in a book launched today - with any proceeds from sales donated to @NSPCC.

I'm pleased to share that my comic strip stories, which help to educate children and young people about being groomed and exploited into #countylines, along with the serious consequences of carrying knives, are now available in the @nspcc online shop. I first said I wanted to create a mobile youth club way back in 2021 in an interview with The Star, Sheffield. When I first mentioned people really backed the idea and offered so much, but when it came to the action they all disappeared. But it was too late, I was committed.
Local govts must put the voices of people with lived experience of poverty at the core of anti-poverty policy making.
Councils, public services, third sector orgs and communities must collaborate to disrupt power imbalances and design better policies to reduce poverty. 🧵 1/4
