@RepNancyMace Agreed. There are two reasons I believe she deserves prison. She knew she was a danger to her children, but chose to remain with them. I would’ve gotten as far away from them as possible, even if that meant living on the streets. Secondly, the fact that she wants off…
It’s good for everyone that women’s rights proponents in the past changed laws such that women could own property, have their own bank accts, etc. That is what “feminism” means to me. The legal playing field was made even.
All the rest of this stuff where men are “bad,” and marriage and kids is some kind of prison, and subscribing to crazy ideas is not any type of feminism to me. It’s rather resentment, insecurity, and mental instability.
There’s no “either you become a devoted housewife and mother and eviscerate your personality and personal hopes and dreams” or “be single your whole life and never have kids and be a ‘boss girl’ and hammer your career.” Those are just silly reductions to some cartoon characters.
Of course you can marry and have children and hold very satisfying jobs and have a husband whom you love and support, as he loves and supports you. You can have children while pursuing things that professionally interest you. These things aren’t “sacrificing your freedom.” That’s silly. They are elements of life that enrich you. They are avenues of experience that bring you closer to a really full picture of who you are, for both the man and the woman.
Don’t believe people saying it’s got to be one way or the other. It’s just nonsense.
Good news! The Senate HELP Committee will consider the #NationalPlan4Epilepsy Act (S. 494) during tomorrow’s markup. This progress happened because advocates spoke up - thank you! Keep the momentum going: ask Congress to cosponsor if they haven’t already: https://t.co/WzrzTdyiFE
"In support of the people of Venezuela."
Following the capture of Venezuelan dictator Nicolás Maduro, Elon Musk’s Starlink announced it will provide free high-speed internet service across Venezuela, saying the move is aimed at supporting the Venezuelan people during a pivotal moment.
BREAKING - Fox’s Kaylee McGhee White says it’s time to discuss how certain cultures are incompatible with America.
“It’s asinine that we can’t have a conversation about how certain cultures are quite literally incompatible with ours. It should be okay to say that.”
You can’t get a $1 million mortgage if you make $100K/year.
You can’t get a $75K car loan if you make $35K/year.
The fact that you can get $250K in student loans for a college degree where you’re expected to earn $40K/year is unacceptable and a complete failure of US society.
We have 18 year old kids making financial decisions that all but guarantee a lifetime of economic insecurity.
These kids do not have the capacity to understand the implications of the debt they are taking on.
The corrupt university system has successfully convinced them going to college is the “smart thing to do” and that it will all work out.
These colleges should have to take the financial hit when they load up 18 years olds with hundreds of thousands of dollars in debt that basic math would tell you will never be repaid.
The federal government backstopping all these student loans does nothing but enable colleges to jack up their prices every year with zero accountability.
Shameful.
Bill Maher takes a sledgehammer to Democrats. He didn't get red-pilled—this is how he's always been. His party went so far left, they're making him look conservative.
"In the 1970s, there were about 13,000 homeschoolers."
"In the 80s, there were 200,000 homeschoolers. The 90s, 850,000."
"And so far, four or five years into the 2020s, there's over 5 million homeschoolers."
"And that number is rising."
Speaker Mike Johnson lives in a $3,000-a-month home. He donates his $224,000 salary to those in need, gave up a $250,000 bonus to help flood victims, and takes only a $10,000 annual allowance — the rest goes to veteran housing assistance.
He’s paid over $500,000 in rent for 70 homeless veterans, cut his office budget by $1 million, flies economy, and stays in budget hotels — then donates the $80,000 he saves to local food banks.
His wife turned their garage into a free cancer therapy center, and on holidays, their family volunteers at shelters while their kids travel to disaster zones to help with relief efforts.
But sure — tell me more about how conservative leadership doesn’t truly look out for those in need.
Obamacare is only 7% of Americans. Literally almost 100% of Americans need relief from their health care policy premiums, not just 7%. We need to have free market solutions that bring down the cost of health care for every American, not just the 7%.
