Single mum writer & campaigner via divorce & donorconception. Founder of #SingleParentRights campaign to end #SingleParent discrimination @SglParentRights
We agree with the Prime Minister that action they have taken so far on child poverty is the "first step".
The only logical next move is to scrap the two-child limit to benefits in full at the Autumn Budget.
Time is ticking for Britain's children.

4 in 10 single parent families live in poverty.
Today we wrote to the Secretaries of State for Education and DWP to urge them to include single parent families in their Child Poverty Strategy process to end this:

Pleased to say it seems this is NOT happening. @Telegraph reporting Treasury has now ruled out getting rid of the council tax single person discount (having previously not ruled it out when asked) in the coming budget.
This week @AngelaRayner introduced the #RentersRightsBill
While it contains some promising changes, we're concerned that single parent discrimination isn't outlawed. That's why we've written to the Sec of State to address this.

Our founder talks about the realities of campaigning on the 2 child benefit cap as a single parent of 3 in the @BigIssue
This policy causes poverty AND breeds stigma which enables poverty & social isolation to thrive.
It must go in the next budget.

There's been much talk of the impact of the 2 child benefit cap. But what of those who dare not leave DV because of this policy?
Thanks to our member for sharing her story.
The 2 child benefit limit has to go in the first government budget.

This article is brilliant at getting across the issues with the 2 child benefit limit.
Thanks so much to our member for sharing her story. Like so many impacted she's a strong, independent and loving mother who deserves to be given support.

Solo parenting for a specific time period vs solo parenting for eternity are worlds apart.
If we don't have the language, how can we be understood?
Thanks to @GenevieveRobert for writing about this sensitively.
💬 ‘No, you don’t know what solo parenting feels like because your partner is away’
⬇️ People forget that they’re comparing their short-term situation with solo parents’ long term. It's not the same, says @GenevieveRobert

@emmacantrell_ @JonesSmith71244@CPAGUK Exactly. And the kids losing out become tax payers so if they can't benefit now when in need should they be obliged to pay in as adults???
@JonesSmith71244@CPAGUK Why's it insane? Isn't it insane to leave kids in poverty. How are they anything to do with their parents behaviour before their birth?
