@TheUnderTiny Our problem was my father lost so much weight that his pants, with his belt tightened, were falling off before his death. He’d worn the same size clothing since he was in collage and the Air Force, so no sizes but one to choose from.

I took home ec, and haven’t stopped sewing since! I proudly wore the first dress I made, and many, many more. That sewing skill saved me tons of money sewing items on my Army uniforms. I also learned some cooking skills in home ec.

Back when girls had to take Home Economics, I made my first dress. It was a simple sleeveless shift with a round neck and a zipper down the back.

I finished it, wore it and got a C on it. Later, the entire zipper fell out. Apparently, that C stood for “Coming apart.” Bobbins and I never did get along. Mine were always a tangled mess.

Did you have to take Home Economics? Can you sew, or did someone at home teach you?

@njoyzgrl81 Beautiful rings! Protect them and yourself. They’re a safety hazard around machinery, trailer, etc. where you could have your finger ‘ungloved’. Get a silicon ring and you can have fun colors. BTW, diamonds can be chipped or broken out, so save them for safer activities.
